I‘m behind on my book reviews 🙃 but this book is my favorite so far in the series which is rare for me since the first book in a series is usually my favorite. It gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 from me 😊

I‘ve finished reread this book or rather I‘ve finished listening to the audiobook. It‘s great. And tbh, either you hate this series or you like it. Cos there‘re some topics that might disgust some readers. If you know what I mean. But somehow... I enjoy this book. 🤓 #audiobook #paranormalromance

I've decided to re-read the first three books ofThe Mortal Instruments, after reading and LOVING The Infernal Devices.
In all honesty I can't remember this book at all.
I'm starting to wonder if I only read until I knew about Jace and Clary and then just stoped...
Becuase this was good!
It had that gripping "Clare" quality to it that I came to know and love in The Infernal Devices.
Review continue ?

Enchanted_Bibliophile The character development was awesome in this book - it's like everyone grew-up.
I'm really psyched to continue this series now.
So glad I decided to re-read these books

I've had several people tell me to read the series. I was told there is a natural break between books 3 and 4 so I opted to stop after 3.

I never started liking the MC, Clary.
I LOVED Luke though. I would read an entire series of just his story.
The books read really quick, even though they're fat. I finished each within a day or two. The world was very in depth and interesting and I loved all the different beings.

LibrarianRyan I stopped after 3 as well. Admittedly that was when the series was supposed to be a trilogy. 5mo
AuthorJensenReed Apparently she mashed two trilogies together. I wanted to like them but so many tines there were weird jumps or lazy writing. Was a bummer cause i like big series 5mo

Crinoline_Laphroaig Thoughts after Rereading City of Glass before Red Scrolls of Magic comes out:
Max! Knew it was coming and still. 😭

Isabelle goes from slightly silly and immature character in first 2 books too badass Warrior Princess.

I had forgotten how brave Simon was.

This is a really decent text adaptation, but the artwork does not capture the feel of the books. It feels unfinished and, because there is so much focus on art in the text itself, it misses the mark. I was impressed with how much of the story was captured in the shortened format.

What I enjoyed: the vulnerable, shattered hero. It's on my favorite tropes. I loved seeing Jace be less than perfect and even nearly meet his match against Sebastian/Johnathan. I loved seeing Jace and Clary fight for their feelings. Clary's powers coming through at the right moments was neat, too. And when the humor returned at the end! The snark is so purely Herondale. #herondales #shadowhunters #YAfantasy

Favorite book in the series so far. It was fast paced and action packed from the beginning. I really liked the characters, except that whole Clary/Jace/Sebastian thing was still really weird. I do wish we had seen more of Alec and Magnus together though!

I love overly dramatic teenagers (in books) and Cassandra Clare is really good at creating them. In this the 3rd book of The Mortal Instruments we finally learn who Jace really is, how powerful Clary is, there is death, destruction, the world's possible ending. It was a fun ride as usual ❣

Soooo much better than the previous two. Better characterization, better dialogue, smoother plot development. Also, a resolution to the poorly-chosen Romeo & Juliet twist of the previous books — thank goodness.

(Gosh, I really don‘t like these new covers 😒)

Current read — or rather re-read. Planning to read The Infernal Devices after this, before continuing with The Mortal Instruments! But first, let‘s go see Clary to Idris. City of Ashes wasn‘t my favorite, but if I remember correctly this was a good one.

Good. Looking back there are multiple issues I have within this series. Chiefly the author's seemingly personal war on platonic relationships. If you can't write a good book without relying on sexual tension maybe you need to rethink things. Especially when you're writing YA.
