From the New York Times bestselling author of It Happened One Wedding comes a novel about a man and a woman whose summer is about to get very, very hot... Divorce lawyer Victoria Slade has seen enough unhappy endings to swear off marriage forever. That doesn't mean she's opposed to casual dating—just not with her cocky new neighbor, who is as gorgeous and tempting as he is off-limits. But once she agrees to take on his sister's case, she's as determined to win as ever—even if that means teaming up with Ford....Investigative journalist Ford Dixon is bent on finding the man who got his sister pregnant and left her high and dry. He's willing to partner with Victoria, despite the fact that the beautiful brunette gets under his skin like no other woman. He might not be looking to settle down, but there's no denying the scorching attraction between them. Still, the more time he spends with Victoria, the more he realizes that the one woman as skeptical about love as he is might be the only woman he could really fall for…"If you need a great read to throw in your beach bag, make sure Suddenly One Summer is one of your choices." --USA TodayFrom the Paperback edition.

#Two4Tuesday @TheSpineView
1. Lime juice, " mixed sweet and salt" as we call it here in India!
2. Monsoons right now in the tropics, and many parts of India are flooded.definitely indoors!
I find it interesting to read how most of the responses, whether it's the tropics or more temperate places, mention the terrible weather that prevents outdoor reading. We are seeing climate change in our lifetime.

dabbe I can't remember a summer with worse weather for most of us. #climatechangeisreal 1y

Mehso-so

It was a perfectly adequate story. I liked the characters, but it dragged on a bit. Also, I have a hard time believing how everything got tied up so nicely in a bow at the end. I give this a 2.5/5.

This was a book club pick and it sounded good but it just never really grabbed me. I didn't really "feel" either character but they did both go through some mental and emotional growth and I did like several of the secondary characters.

Pickpick

This would not normally be my pick for a read...am more of a historical romance reader than a contemporary one. But I read this for a book club, and it was pretty good. Humorous, good chemistry and while not very exciting, it depicted some growth from the two leads, both personally and as a couple. A pet peeve is that the cover has absolutely NOTHING to do with the book...at all. No water. No beach. 🙄 #romantsy #osrbc
