#NovemberbytheNumbers Before I actually got pregnant (but several years into the “trying”), I️ stumbled upon this amazing, essentially brand new set of #ten #10 Children‘s stories at #HalfPriceBooks (which I️ miss greatly since moving away from the Midwest!)... Now we have the baby and the books ☺️👶🏼💙📚 The books grow in age — i.e., the first book has stories for babies, and the 10th has stories for older kids (and everything in between :))

ralexist We had those growing up :) 7y

This set belonged to my father and his brother. (Except volume 2 which was missing. eBay to the rescue.) The stories get a little heavy-handed with the morals but were still beloved by our kids. #childlike #maybookflowers @RealLifeReading

britt_brooke Beautiful! 7y
merelybookish I have a set of these! I love the illustrations 7y
Lcsmcat @merelybookish Me too! Ours are the 1925 edition, with the exception of Vol. 2 which is from the 30's, but I think they kept using the illustrations through the later editions. 7y

To #bookthrough made me think of books as portals that you go through to another world. It's a metaphor I associate with childhood reading. This is the final volume of the My Bookhouse series for kids from the 1920s. I like how the kids are about to unlock the door and enter the book. #novemberland @TizJ3ss

rubyslippersreads I have a vintage set of these (with black covers) that my mom bought me. Alas, they're still in storage ... 😢📚 8y
