#OnThisDay in 1923 TIME Magazine was first published, becoming the first weekly magazine in the US. TIME coined (or at least popularized) terms such as "socialite", "guesstimate", "pundit", and "tycoon." Over the years, the Magazine has also committed a few "oops", like including Evelyn Waugh on a list of the most influential female writers ?♀️. One person has been featured on the cover 55 times. 1. Several. Time, National Geographic, Food Network Magazine, Funny Times, Rolling Stone, Sports Illustrated.
2. Occasionally, usually because I've been stupid and forgot to bring a book and needed something to read.
3. Lots of short fiction of various genres, sci-fi, horror, romance, mystery, crime thriller and fantasy all in one volume.

Today‘s reading consists of catching up on all my magazines. We‘ve always been a lover of the once-a-month Smithsonian and Texas Monthly magazines in my house. But my mom had to use up some airline miles before they expired so now we get Time, Entertainment Weekly, and People every week. Plus, Seventeen magazine has started sending me free issues even though I‘m definitely not their target audience. Puts a bit of a dent in my book reading!
This was my big project at work this week: organizing and cataloging close to 6,000 rolls of the library's microfilm. Boy, did my eyes get blurry ?. I was holding issues of the "Saturday Evening Post" that are well over 100 years old! That's an amazing feeling ?. #LitsyLovesLibraries
