I needed to read some poetry to break up the week
Just over here wishing I could escape deeper into my books
I couldn't put it down. The story explains how past traumas of state violence continue to shape and effect the lives of the Palestinians today. It also brings to attention that the "victors" get to be the ones to record the narrative and highlights what is omitted while calling into question how reliable the "Official " narrative is
Taking a break from vacation to buy tickets to the 1st bookcon since 2019
Getting to the vacation house just means finding views and places to rwad
The ancestors greeted her with love, admiration, and respect. R.I.P
I got this from my book subscription & in all honestly I was pissed to realize this was a pet peeve book, when they dress up a soft core porn romance as something else...but it was pretty well written with a decent storyline that I wanted to find out. So you can imagine my annoyance that it ended on a cliffhanger, because I won't get book 2 to find out how it ends...but what do I know, I'm just some bitch
I've had a weekend alone and now must pick a book ...how to choose ???!!
I was at the bottom of my class. I started doing heroin and I went to the top of my class. Suddenly I could sit still and I could read .

If Lydia Deetz owned a hotel it would be this...if you're ever in Roxbury, NY...5 stars/no notes
This book was insane, I actually dropped it as I physically reacted to a scene of horror. (Which never happens)
The characters are extremely unlikable and its a bit over the top, but damn if it didn't get me caught up in a story and entertained by where it went.
What if everyone who says, "Being gay is a choice" are in fact choosing to be straight and suppressing their gay urges and they assume that's everyone's experience ?
13 yr old, 17 yr old, 23 yr old ,28 yr old and 36 yr old me are all equally devastated by this
I will not call this "Aligator anything", no this is Donald's Dachau...the 1st concentration camp established by the Nazi's. They were so proud of their 1st concentration camp that they would have sold merch if they could have too.
If you're feeling hopeless, overwhelmed and like you have no control over any of this...remember calling it what it is , a concentration camp is resistance. Joy is resistance, knowledge is resistance. Resist
I gifted my husband the experience of driving a racecar and officially earned my best wife ever card
I know what her books are & are not. While not peak literary achievement, her characters are relatable and her storytelling is so familiar its comfort for me.
After a breathtakingly shitty few days I needed to let my self disappear into Weiners easy story and the world of the Griffin Sisters
This book is a historical fiction that tells the story of serial killer Ted Bundy from the POV of 2 women in the aftermath. The title is a play on how he was described by judges & the media. The story exams the lens Bundy was portrayed (handsome, bright, charismatic) rather than the monster that he was and the women who were almost denied justice due to sexism ,misogyny and "questionable choices". Great writing and characters added to a great read
I didn't need this book to tell me the type and degree of human garbage Zuckerberg is, but it was eye opening to get such details. Now that I'm done I need a shower
My soul needed this ,it needed to be connected to others, to feel hope and stand up against evil
For everyone protesting tomorrow please be safe, please be smart, please keep your eyes peeled and aware of your surroundings. I know I'm not the only person hearing rumors of agitators and disruptors
...dont let them scare you into sitting out. Signs are done a we are ready
I grabbed this book on a whim at the grocery store for something to read on the beach and it was such a good read.
You are so wrapped up in the characters that you don't realize how well the author has layered in dynamics of systems in this country and how society views who is and isn't deserving of compassion, dignity & chances. The characters are so unlikable, but incredibly fascinating with a surprise ending you never saw coming. Read it!
Books on the beach are always 10 stars
No....girl, say less

I don't know how I feel about the tally marks for my anniversary gift 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
