At first this seems like it will be just another love story set against the backdrop of WWII. But it develops into much more, following Sophie across continents and decades, in and out of a variety of relationships and emotional landscapes. Through it all, the author presents us with the dangers and rewards of fallibility, as well as the value and pain of memory.

Pretty sure the author is implying these people were unprepared for travel. I, however, believe this is excellent planning. ✔️

I suspect several of us Littens can identify with this character's assessment of herself. 😜❤️
