Home by myself and the puppy is exhausted. That means I can turn on Hamilton and read my February #bookspin pick.

I realized a while back that I knew very little about Martin Luther King Jr. so I got this book to learn more about him and his work. I thoroughly enjoyed learning these things and getting to know MLK more personally. The book did drag a little for me, as it was rather long, but this may also be the time of year when I struggle to read for some reason. Overall I enjoyed reading this book and learning.

Been in a reading slump for a week or so. Finished some good books and now just can‘t get back in the swing of things. I started King Jr‘s autobiography a could days ago and am really enjoying it. Pressing on!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Editor and MLK scholar, Clayborne Carson, cobbled together writings and speeches to create this powerful rendering of Dr. King‘s work. The audiobook production is chill-inducing. LeVar Burton narrates the stories which are punctuated by actual speech and sermon recordings. Such an incredible human being.

This book made such an impact on me more than any other book I've ever read. I actually cried reading this book at some points. When I started reading this book, I never realized how amazing it truly would be. I got the recommendation for this book off of Tumblr from just looking through posts about books. I'm so happy I gave this book a chance.

There is nothing more majestic than the determined courage of individuals willing to suffer and sacrifice for their freedom and dignity.

Kaye Wonderful man with visions way beyond his time. It‘s too bad he didn‘t get to live out his natural lifetime. We‘ve needed a steady voice like his. 6y

Two (four?) inspired my Dr. King on my TBR shelf. I hope to get to these sooner rather than later. March is in my stack for this weekend's #24in48 readathon. #inspiredbymlk #readjanuary
