No weekend break in the new regime! They‘ve fallen in love with the trick of posting big news on a Friday night. This week it was the firing of three top officers at the Pentagon. After previously firing the Coast Guard commandant. I wonder why??

As a #longtimefed I sometimes had the opportunity to see high-level officials in person. I also saw four POTUS speak, from much farther away than I was for GEN Powell. Clinton was the best speaker.

Aims42 Ugh. I miss the days of waking up and not instantly thinking, “Welp, let‘s check the news to see what he dismantled while I was sleeping” 😒 1w
Julsmarshall Me too, @Aims42 The expertise and historical understanding that we are losing everyday is terrifying. 1w

The_Penniless_Author Saturday too. Nothing improves morale like a random email demanding we justify our jobs in five bullet points or risk being fired: https://www.cnn.com/2025/02/22/politics/elon-musk-employees-emails/index.html 1w
Susanita @The_Penniless_Author Right? I‘ve seen some brilliant responses on Bluesky though. Also, “requesting to understand” means what? 1w
Amiable @Aims42 SAME. I haven‘t had a full night‘s sleep since Nov. 5. 😖 @Susanita Sending virtual hugs. I know they don‘t change the situation, but it‘s all I‘ve got right now. 1w
Susanita @Amiable Hugs are always welcome. 1w

Started very strong but got a little repetitive in the last third.

Just wanted to honor my fellow veterans! Happy Veterans Day. Sometimes people mix these dates up. 11/11 is to honor the LIVING who once served.

I just started this audio book on my drive this morning. It's comforting to shut off the news and listen to a rational voice.
