Journaling Basics - Journal Writing for Beginners
Journaling Basics - Journal Writing for Beginners | Lisa Shea
9 posts | 3 read | 2 to read
Journaling was embraced by Leonardo da Vinci and it kept Bob Dylan's lyrics insightful. Anne Frank's journal shared poignant moments in her too-short life. Basho, the famous poet, kept a journal of his travels. Journals can help you release stress, develop forgiveness, embrace your past, adore your future, and explore aspects of your creativity that you never knew existed. And the entire process is free. Journaling Basics - Journal Writing for Beginners takes your hand and guides you on a journey of emotional healing and creative blossomings. From deciding what to journal in to investigating the different styles journals, the 160-page book is there every step of the way to offer insight, ideas, and suggestions. Author Lisa Shea has been journaling for many years and presents the pros and cons of styles of books, styles of writing, and a myriad of other topics. She's also available on a number of social network systems like Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ to lend a hand if you get stuck. Together we can take that first step to achieving your dreams! All author's proceeds of the Journaling series benefit battered women's shelters.

The non coloured version of my Mount TBR tracker in my new bullet journal. Each little dot is one book, each big one is every fifth book. Will be coloured tomorrow.

ZeinaHesham Is your reading goal for the year 60 ? Because that's mine too ! 6y
ZeinaHesham @jessinikkip Good luck 🙆🏻‍♀️ 6y
DGRachel That‘s a cool tracker! 6y

So I did a thing and got a dot journal to make a bullet journal for the rest of the year. Here is my first page, a pixel page showing just how much I read that day. I will be working on my May layout after a while.

I‘m trying to write down a few thoughts about each book I read this year. I lean more to a more #commonplace book style; but with coloring.

TaylorMay Oooh I love it! 7y
IheartYA I've been working on something very similar. It's a guided review page set on a coloring page border. 7y
SamHeartCoffee Yay! Love journals! 💙 7y

My #bookriots shot of the day shows how out of control my list-making is. I love #journalsnotebooks more than I know what to do with them. #booknerdproblems

Yes, I have this many journals. Half are waiting to be written in, half are full of my book reviews and musings. I used to review all my books in my journals but became lazy once I started adding them to Goodreads too. I should really get back to journaling again. #notebooksjournals #day4 #riotgrams

BexHartsell This is gorgeous! 8y
PurpleyPumpkin @BexHartsell Thanks! Hopefully, I'll actually write in all of them one day. 😉 8y
Jinjer Oooooo!!!! Those look so nice! 8y

Jinjer My eyes 👀 go to the ones with a diamond pattern on the spine. What are those? 8y
PurpleyPumpkin @Jinjer Those are paperblanks' Embellished Manuscript journals. Each represents a particular author or artist and have the person's handwriting on the front cover. They're quite lovely. 8y

Pickpick

Just the basics. A few typos. Good outlines, prompts, and ideas. Succinct descriptions. Some self-promoting. Helpful, suggestive tone.

minkyb I just heard a discussion about one line a day journals and I was intrigued. 8y
geodynamical_nonfiction @minkyb that's new to me. Seems like that's the way to go if you plan to pass down your journal to future generations. 👍 8y
Suet624 My dad did a one line journal for years. The line was about the weather. It wasn't very inspiring. 8y

geodynamical_nonfiction @Suet624 LOL! Oh the possible reasons to keep record of the weather! As if one could think to find patterns or correlations... @minkyb 8y
geodynamical_nonfiction @Suet624 not sure how I missed your comment 4 days ago. Sorry about that. 8y
Suet624 Oh, please don't apologize. I've been off Litsy ever since Super Bowl Sunday. My team won and I've been in a stupor of delight ever since, just watching replays and commentaries. 8y
Suet624 I forgot to respond to your comment about my Dad and his journaling about the weather. He never once talked about the weather or the history of the weather when he was alive. I opened the journals thinking I would find something revealing and found years of entries about sun, rain, temperature. Why? Why? Why? 😂 8y

I was inspired to read this little ebook and take inventory of all my journals and notebooks. Been feeling extra creative and focused today. #creativity #journaling #productivity #drawing #organizing
