pick5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A truly wonderful book of mistakes. Years ago in art class, our teacher said you never make a mistake, you just get taken down a different path. If I didn‘t know better, I would think that teacher wrote this book. The artist starts to draw a person. But one eye was bigger than the other. That was a mistake. Adding the glasses was not. I love the message that great things can come from a mistakes.
pickI felt like I should love this one, but I just liked it. The illustrations are detailed and the concept is wonderful, but for the most part, I didn‘t feel the text really added to the book. It easily could have been a wordless picture book and conveyed the message, although I did like the line about the leaves a lot. The illustrations are reminiscent of Philip Stead. A pretty book that is worth the read.

Another gorgeously illustrated picture book teaching kids the value of making mistakes but it might have been a bit too existential for me and my kid.
