DNF- I was so bored! I could not pay attention and had no clue what was going on. Blah!

Something about this seemed off to me. It's good but I didn't like it nearly as much as I did The Scorpion Rules.

The post-apocalyptic road trip novel of my heart. It's meaty, brutal, surprising, and ultimately hopeful. I'm so, so glad I finally read it.

Highly recommended, but I'd avoid the audio. The narrator is excellent at character voices but far too crisp/stiff in all other respects. I THINK some of this was a deliberate attempt to reflect Greta's mental state. It still irked me, though the awesome story carried me through. #queerbooks

LOVE LOVE LOVE. Erin Bow is a delight. She writes horrifying things with such grace and humour and I have a lot of feelings about this.

It's a hard life.

I would like to be coherent about this book, but it's just all (heartbroken/heartwarming) tears. 5/5 😭, would 😭 again.

I made it to page 332 before I started crying.

Another fabulous novel from Erin Bow! I highly recommend this series.

An absolutely gorgeous sequel. I liked The Scorpion Rules pretty well, but this follow-up blew me away. Beautiful writing, a cast of incredibly interesting characters, and some very emotional moments. And I got to spend the entire book with Talis and the other AI.

The follow-up to Scorpion Rules continues to surprise! It's filled with great character interactions and daring ideas. Erin Bow never allows the story to become bogged down by tired tropes. And a giant shout out for portraying a bisexual protagonist in a realistic and positive way!

What an amazing sequel! Lovely writing, high stakes, twisty conspiracies, shifting loyalties galore. I cried through the last 30 pages. This is a sequel that holds its own, with not insignificant emotional heft. And once again, huzzah for queer girl sci-fi!!!

Princess Bride joke had me spewing my coffee, I was laughing so hard.

This book is an excellent pillow. Also a pretty good follow-up to The Scorpion Rules. It got a little confusing in some parts and wasn't always as compelling, but the end was worth it and I like the themes of what it means to be human in a world where you're not.

So excited to start this one!
