1.5/5⭐ The wrap-up still feels incomplete & all over the place. There are plotlines & characters introduced that have no overall impact whatsoever.

According to the acknowledgments, McCaffrey had no idea what conclusion she was writing toward before this book; no wonder nothing moved forward previously.

Why McCaffrey bothered to make a character gay when he only has sex with a woman is beyond me. WTF.

This series was a struggle to get through.

Bk1 of this weeks #readathons is finished! It‘s bittersweet rereading this series, knowing that there‘ll never be another adventure in the world of the “Talents”. Yeah, I know it‘s 6.30am in the morning here in Sydney, but anytime is ice cream time right? Isn‘t that one of the perks of being an adult?! This is a Connoisseurs Native Collection, with Macadamias crusted in a lemon myrtle sugar plus a swirling of an Australian finger lime & ginger sauce in a vanilla bean ice cream. It was soooo good! Paired with the concluding novel of The Tower And The Hive series, which is also very good.🍋🌰🍨 #HSreadathon

#90sInJuly #day5 #AliensExist Anne McCaffrey is one of my all time favourite writers, her Pern series, The Ship Who Sang, Doon & this one, The Tower & The Hive series which starts with The Rowan, are some of the best SciFi ever written. The aliens in this series are the destructive Hivers, bug-like aliens, hell bent on wiping out other species so they can colonize planets, & the friendly Mrdini, who ally with humans against the Hivers.

Bk5 & the last in The Tower And The Hive series is just as interesting & exciting as the previous 4.The world McCaffrey has built in these stories is so complex & compelling that it's sad to think that this will be the last one ever written.I so wanted the story to continue, the world of Prime Talents, Mrdinis, Hiver Spheres & the Star League deserves more than just 5 books. More of Damia,Afra,the Rowan & the entire Gwyn-Raven-Lyon clan is better.

#LitsyPartyOfOne This is my pathetic, sad attempt at my party. The hubby had to go away again & it's been too hot for me to even attempt to leave the house, & the weather has made my illness flare.So I'm hiding in my dark bedroom, in my electric bed with my aircon, fan & book. I don't have party food, decorations or pretty pjs, I have herbal tea, hydralite ice blocks & a cold washer for my forehead. This is what a true introverts party looks like!
