Tony Hillerman is such a damn good writer. 5⭐
"The southwest wind picked up turbulence around the San Francisco Peaks, howled across the emptiness of the Moenkopi plateau, and made a thousand strange sounds in windows of the old Hopi villages at Shongopovi and Second Mesa."

Showed up in my LFL, but audio is a necessity when I have to be doing stuff.
From the cover blurb:
"The blind shaman Listening Woman speaks of witches and restless spirits, of supernatural evil unleashed. But Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn of the Navajo Tribal Police is sure the monster who slaughtered an old man and a teenage girl was human.
The solution is buried somewhere in a dead man‘s secrets—and in the shocking events of a hundred years past."
#JulyJam #ListeningDay 4th in the Chee/Leaphorn series published in April 1978. AMC has new series based on the books , haven‘t checked it out yet .
New petition to force all books to include a book map! How hard is it, especially when it involves real places?! Finally printed off my own map, only to discover little tidbits like Mexican Water is actually a town and Lake Powell is REALLY far away from Albuquerque. I'm overall enjoying this series, whose MC is law enforcement for the Navajo nation. This one was published in 1978 & involved the AIM, which I only had a vague knowledge of. It's ⬇️
Hour 12 challenge for #24in48. I love audiobooks! I always have one on my phone and one in the car for commutes. The top two are my current reads. The All Souls Trilogy is probably my favorite audios. I don‘t know that I would have finished them if it wasn‘t for Jennifer Ikeda and her expert narration.
I get the majority of my audios from the library.
1. Housework, running, driving, walking the dog, ignoring the children 😄.
2. Audible mainly and Libby.
3. Usually original but if the reader is very slow I go up to 1.5.
4. I actually don‘t chose by narrator but I think I should start paying more attention. I like when the narrator is the writer.
5. Priestdaddy 😍 😍 Heartburn 😍😍😍
