I never do dinner and a book (because I don't read while eating often) but I just want to share this awesome dinner with my Litsy friends. We had Philly cheese steaks tonight and they were delicious!!

Philly bread / stir fry beef steaks / Muenster cheese / sautéed onions and green peppers = seconds please!! So filling and yummy

My husband and I went out kid-free to a local gastro pub for dinner. It seems American food is the in thing in regional Victoria (Australia). Philly cheese steaks with onion rings and an American cheese burger with fries. Reminded me of @MrBook just missing the tatter tots (which I've never had, not sure we even have them here). It was delicious btw.

Laura317 I had no idea burgers and fries were considered American. Here, we have a restaurant called the Outback. It's supposed to be Australian, but I suspect it just uses Australian sounding names. 7y

Joanne1 @Laura317 burgers are big in Australian but they usually have things like fried egg and beetroot in them. This was sold as an American cheese burger and had mustard instead of tomato sauce. It is possibly like your Outback restaurant rather than actually 'American'. I'd love to know what they serve at the Outback. 7y

Joanne1 @Dragon do you know this is the first time I've ever tried onion rings. Not really my thing. Though my husband to travels to the US regularly for work said these were a poor substitute for the ones he's had over there. 7y

MrBook 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻!!!! No tater tots is acceptable considering their rarity there ☺️. If I could, I'd mail you some, but they need to remain frozen until baking. #Outback is a favorite restaurant of mine & @BookBabe 's. It's a steak place. It's a large franchise here in the States. Next time we go to one, we'll snap some pics for you magnificent Aussies. You can find menu items on their website. And they don't serve Vegemite, lol. 7y

Dragon Onion rings are probably a bit of an acquired taste 😀and not everyone makes good ones . 7y
