I never do dinner and a book (because I don't read while eating often) but I just want to share this awesome dinner with my Litsy friends. We had Philly cheese steaks tonight and they were delicious!!

Philly bread / stir fry beef steaks / Muenster cheese / sautéed onions and green peppers = seconds please!! So filling and yummy

Don‘t have a favorite cookbook but I‘m a long time Good Eats fan. Alton would probably be offended I‘m not sharing his blueberry muffin recipe here but he uses cake flour which I don‘t always have on hand.

Watching Twas the Night Before Good Eats 🎄🎄🎄

Today was my family‘s Thanksgiving and wow were we ever grateful for our family and our bounty. My sweet family all helped make all the food, my daughter and I the sides, and the boys and me the turkey and hubby made rolls and roasted potatoes. After hours of stressing with the turkey, we got it brined overnight (a first for us) and it was the juiciest, tastiest turkey we ever had. Second course coming up: Pecan pie & ice cream! Love you Litsy!

One more from The Forest City Cookbook. Goat Stew. Now goat isn't all that common around here but I have had it before (the first time was in a trip to Haiti in 2007ish) and it is quite delicious.

Some (okay quite a few) local chefs got together recently to publish this delightful cookbook full of recipes from around the city. It's absolutely wonderful. And it's over 500 pages with beautiful photos. I'm so happy I purchased a copy before they ran out.
