This author (literally) wrote the book on writing mystery and suspense novels. I think most, if not all, of her books have been nominated for Agatha awards. This is the 2nd of her books I've read, and while she definitely knows how to plant seeds and plot, I just don't enjoy her writing style. Or her characters. I think it's best I stop reading her fiction, but her guide for Writer's Digest is great. (This one was about creepy dolls, thus the pic.)
I really enjoyed the characters and the twists and turns. I couldn't think ahead of the plot for awhile but eventually I could and did. It was an easy read and nothing you had to think too hard about so it was like enjoying a scenic ride. The ending was rather crafty, although I wanted to know if Vanessa got what she'd been working for.
So far so good, but then again I am waiting for the proverbial $h!t to hit the fan. I'm hooked though so that's always a plus.
For #hallowreads #someoneswatchingsunday I'm updating my #autumnbingo sheet with the tagged book as #someoneswatching
Throughout the book, I think it's obvious that there is a pair of very keen eyes watching everyone's movements-which is both annoying and infuriating because the characters don't seem to see the obvious!

This is definitely a slow burn mystery. Not nearly as creepy as I would have thought all the dolls to be ? well written, good pacing, mostly well developed characters (though maybe the sheer number of them made that difficult), but I actually figured out the ending and for however many of the last chapters was inwardly screaming at the characters "how have you not figured this out!!!????"
My afternoon. I'm so set to finish this! Couldn't keep my eyes open last night.
Nests on the couch are the best- Ajax agrees #dogsoflitsy
This has to be my #octobermustread because this is the first book I stacked because of litsy #blameitonlitsy and I have been waiting a very long time to get this through my library!

This is a great suspenseful mystery! While a bit predictable, the book still totally captivated me! Check out my full review here: http://www.ericarobynreads.com/2017/08/book-review-youll-never-know-dear.html?m=...
Creepy porcelain doll story along with a kidnapping? Well, duh. 😀
This book was just okay for me. I felt that the middle dragged and I was having trouble getting to the end. Once I hit the last third of the book, it picked back up and pulled me back in. I had some trouble connecting to the characters as well. However, I did keep reading because I wanted to find out the answer to the mystery.
Had the pleasure of meeting Hallie Ephron tonight. We had invited her to speak at my library about her new book. She is such a great speaker! The full room was totally engaged in her talk. She spoke of her family, her history and her writing process. Such a great night! (And this book sounds super creepy too!😱)
I should be working hard. I'm doing this instead. 😳 #asidefrombooks @beachbookworm7

Pretty cool when you get a random book in the mail from a publisher. I have no idea how I got it but I sure am happy 😍

+Just okay.
Nothing special.
I expect more.
+Hmmm.. What to read next? I've been missing the feeling of reading SOMETHING AWESOME. Series or stand alone. I want horror story or suspense. Wae wae wae..
+So many TBR books, but WHAT TO READ NEXT.

Soooo many dolls. And not creepy just odd. Implausible and silly which I usually don't mind. But this one was dull. It was ok. . .
How creepy is this cover!? We're in love with the new @HallieEphron - a story about a family's search for a child who went missing years ago, and the doll that may be the key to all the answers. Coming 6/6!
Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! I'm in the acknowledgments!!!!!
My #apriltbr, at least the books I HAVE to read for book clubs and such. The empty space is for You'll Never Know, Dear by Hallie Ephron, which is on my Kindle. I hosted her at the library last year (which she graciously did for free!!!) when she was in town doing research for this book, so I'm killer excited to read the result. #aprilbookshowers @RealLifeReading
