Many of my posts about the USA are focused upon the bits I don't like, ironic as those bits tend to be related to consumerism and capitalism, which arose in my corner of the world. Despite 'problems' (which we all have), when I go to my book and music collections, I'm reminded of how great US culture can be. This is one of my favorite ballads from the 70s, it‘s definitely a heart-tugger.The irony of this song though, is that the two men singing it were troubled waters themselves. From the start they had a rocky relationship, full of mistrust & jealousy,they ended their partnership just as they were gaining success. Both have since had solo careers & reunited for tours.
