Cute story. I thought the plot was interesting but highly unlikely. Yet, it is fiction and I did enjoy it.

The characters are well rounded and worked well together. I liked the tension in the story and it made me want to find out how it would all work out. 4⭐️

This book is so 90s that it's actually 80s, and the plot is wild and it feels So Old the way characters (okay, mostly the hero) are presented, and yet! And yet it compels me! I had a good enough time with this book that I'm considering checking out others in the series??? I too, it seems, am wild.

Also, this author still writes this series and I'd be fascinated to know how they're going in 2021.

Ooh, the science bureaucracy is supposed to be infuriating, but IT IS INFURIATING! Hit that man!

I LOVE all of the Chicago Stars books but I'll admit, this one isn't at the very top of my favorites list. The initial premise always makes me cringe a bit, but SEP still manages to pull me in and get me invested in the end. So still a solid read all in all and an enjoyable romance! #romantsy

(PS: love that this takes place near Asheville, NC - my mom lives there! Great city)

This was pure fun to read. Great zingy chemistry between Cal and Jane with plenty of sassy dialogue really bought this book to life. There were lots of comedic moments and a strong storyline to keep the emotions engaged and my eyes glued to the page.

I wanted this to be funnier, especially in the beginning. It was weird and uncomfortable for the first several chapters but I eventually started to like it (particularly the practical joke Jane played on him). The b-plot was very nice.

Heard so much about this, so many recs - finally getting around to reading it. #romance
