Today my brother is finally getting to see his friend in foster care. We took care of this kid a couple months straight before social services stepped in to the situation at his last Foster home. (My brother is the one in the 'Up in Smoke' shirt 😒) They are both full swing teenagers, help me god.

Crazeedi It's good your brother can be a good friend to him, what a tough sad situation 💕 6y

Em890

I am in search of a book recommendation for my 13yo brother. He has to read something over the summer and he is not helpful in the search process. He won't give me any ideas about what he would like. He enjoys science, video games, music, and anime (faves are Fairy Tale and Naruto). Any thoughts? He will be eternally grateful since he has lost his internet until he picks a book.

Em890 Update: he said maybe to 8y
SoniaC This might catch his attention. 8y
Em890 @SoniaC he said no to that one too. He's driving me crazy *pulls hair out* 8y

Em890 @SoniaC that got a maybe too! Our mom is going to check tonight to see if they will accept graphic novels as a book. 8y
SoniaC @Em890 hopefully they will. Is this for school? 8y
Em890 @SoniaC yeah. He has to read one book over the summer. That's all the information the note they sent gave us. 8y
SoniaC @Em890 well I hope he finds one he will really enjoy. 8y
Soubhiville I second Ready Player One! 8y
Em890 @Soubhiville I have heard great things about it and it's on my TBR list for a while. I'm a bit surprised he turned it down 8y
Nuwanda I second Ready Player One and hope the school allows graphic novels. I do in my classroom. Would an audiobook be an option? That way he could maybe do an activity he likes better while he listens. 8y
Nuwanda Sandman is great too. One my kids at school really like is Touching Spirit Bear. 8y
Em890 @Nuwanda His teacher last year allowed him to read Anime subtitles for his homework, but this is from the school and not that teacher so who knows. 8y
Nuwanda @Em890 That's really cool about the anime subtitles! Never thought of that one. Best of luck to him and your family--I hope this school is open to other forms of literature! (edited) 8y
