The story was good, but the book just felt very surface level to me. There weren't any moments where I thought to myself, "wow, I've never thought of stringing those words together in that way."

Perhaps it was just over-hyped to me and it didn't meet the expectations.

But it was definitely better than the movie!

I just got bookshelves put together for all of my books and um getting them all organized (which feels great) but I am not sure how I want to organize my Cassandra Clare books. Do I do it chronologically by story (ie infernal devices then mortal instruments) or chronologically by publishing date (ie MI then ID)....or alphabetically by series title?

Too many options!!

Recently did Book Spine Poetry with my students.

3 hr ride on a school bus. I should be grading papers. Instead I‘m reading a new book. I‘m loving this point of view.

Finished with book 3. I‘m a little nervous for book 4. This one felt like a natural end to the series. The last time a series wrapped up everything in book 3 of 4, book 4 was total trash.

I‘m starting to think that CW only kept the basic premise and a handful of names when they adapted the books into a tv series. I feel like the writing is really weak and things are still moving so slowly, but I am enjoying the story itself.

This has been on my TBR since I first found the show on Netflix and I‘ve got to say I was a little disappointed. In my opinion, the characters are much less developed and not much happened plot-wise in the 300+ pages. First time I‘ve ever thought the TV show was better.

If you have not read this book, you need to. I couldn‘t put it down.

I have been waiting for something bad to happen for the last forty pages or so, but I didn‘t see that coming. 😰 Gotta hand it to Diana Gabaldon though, I‘m not often surprised by plot events. 👏

What better way to spend an unexpected snow day in between grading periods (i.e. without any grading or planning to do) curled up reading a good book.

I am in search of a book recommendation for my 13yo brother. He has to read something over the summer and he is not helpful in the search process. He won't give me any ideas about what he would like. He enjoys science, video games, music, and anime (faves are Fairy Tale and Naruto). Any thoughts? He will be eternally grateful since he has lost his internet until he picks a book.

By the end of this book I was kind of tired of being in Thomas' head. But that might be because I read the whole series in 3 days. It just kind of got repetitive after everything else. But I was really pleased with the ending which rarely happens for me.

I wish I had read the book before watching the movie..or at least not so close after watching it. It took a while to stop comparing the two. All in all I really enjoyed this book

I really enjoyed this book. Whenever I found time to read it, I didn't want to put it down. At least until the last 30 pages or so. The ending felt a bit rushed and bits of it didn't really feel resolved to me. But I love Titanic stories. I just wish there were more of them.

I think I found some of the inspiration for How to Train a Dragon :)

So my younger sister has never been a fan of reading because she has always had trouble reading, but she is now 8 mo. pregnant and has decided she wants to start reading more so that my niece grows up seeing her reading (proud big sister moment for me). But I am completely blanking on books for her so I am looking for suggestions. She is 20, going through a rough breakup from an abusive boyfriend and likes vampires, batman, and jellyfish. Thanks!

Wow. This book was amazing. It started out a little slowly with its third person limited pov, but as it starts to show some of the other characters' pov in later chapters it really picks up speed and it is hard to stop. This book really made me think and was one of the first books I have read in a long time that wasn't super predictable. I am definitely going to have to read it again in the future.

I have been feeling really down in the dumps these last few months and haven't been reading as much (in part because I primarily read on the subway and I haven't been going out pretty much at all). I want to fix that because reading always makes me feel better. Hoping this new app that tracks reading and let's you set goals will help. That and my new Christmas books :)

I love when I get to shelve the Foreign Language editions of books at work and getting to see the different covers that are made for the different markets but I've got to be honest. This one kind of creeps me out.

My mom posted this on Facebook. It's the first time I have ever heard this anecdote. I've always thought I owed my love of reading to my mom for always encouraging me to read but I guess, in part, I owe my love of reading to this librarian who stopped my mom's horseplay in the library

I really enjoyed this book though the ending did leave a little something to be desired and I missed having the other peculiars with Jacob on this leg of the journey.

I think this is my favorite scene in the book so far.

I really enjoyed the photos in the first two books, but I feel like the ones in this book don't really add anything to the story and I find myself wishing they weren't there.

I'm having a hard time believing James Franco as a school teacher, let alone a phenomenal one that changes lives.

Satan as written by Milton is one of my all-time #favevillians. I really love everything about the way he retells this origin story and makes God and Satan and the Angels seem so human.

This is my first King book and I'm glad it was. I absolutely loved it. It was a bit repetitive at times, but the story was amazing. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading sci-fi and/or historical fiction.

I will definitely be reading now more King novels..as soon as I recover from reading this one.

Two chapters left. I'm determined to finish this tonight.

After four days of pretty consistently reading this book, I have finally reached the halfway point.
