@BookishTrish Here they are! (My better half managed to score me the Grateful Dead sock set for Christmas and this is the first pair I've taken out of the coveted package. 😝) And sorry, no books in this pic, just feet. 🤣

BookishTrish So cute! 4y
monkeygirlsmama @BookishTrish Thanks! There are other colored bears higher up the socks too. I love them! 4y

I had a bit of a hard time coming up with a book for #celebritylove. I read mostly fiction and don't really have many books on celebrities.

But then I remembered the coffee table book of my grad school years.

I am putting my own spin on todays #Characters2017 prompt #AmericanBeauty and highlighting the album (in a book) - I thought of finding a character from the track listing (friend of the devil, trucking etc) but it is too early for that right now. So imma let my #deadhead roots show. This book is an awesome resource for deadheads and/or anyone who may want to prop open a heavy door as it is an excellent #doorstopper.

LibrarianRyan Works for me. The American Beauty rose is the most popular. 👍🤓 8y
Kimzey Such a great album! 🌹🌈☠️👍🏻 8y

I was listening to music tonight while doing household chores. As I made my way through my playlist it struck me: much of my taste in music has been influenced by my love of stories. Gordon Lightfoot, Simon and Garfunkel, the Grateful Dead, Harry Chapin, Tanglefoot, and even Tracy Chapman: musicians who tell stories.

It was an odd little moment of clarity; I just thought I'd share.

vivastory I've always had a fondness for concept albums, which are i suppose the equivalent of music novels 8y
SpeculativeFemale @vivastory Yes, I think they are. 8y
Owlizabeth When people ask me my musical tastes, I say I like songs with lots of words and a good story. 8y
