Very good, kept me wanting to find out what happened! Didn‘t like the ending that much though!

We are heading into August, this post highlights my favourite reads of July.

She‘s Not There by Joy Fielding - had such a WTF ending, it was great.
Far From True by Linwood Barclay - twist and turns keep the pages turning.
You Can‘t Hide by Karen Rose - I just love this series.
I Know My Name by C.J. Cooke - nice story build up to a huge surprise.
Flight Patterns by Karen White - intense, complex story about family relationships and secrets.
A woman with no name. A wild, abandoned island. A family desperate for answers. A debut thriller like no other.
The story pulled me in immediately, a lot of tension building from the opening pages. I found the characters were very well developed. I don‘t know much about mental illness, but I thought it was well done. It seemed the author did a lot of research to make the readers understand and it flowed smoothly.
This book was definitely a “so-so” for me. While I really enjoyed the final revelations I felt like it took way too long to get there. It also felt like the actions that originally took place (being vague on purpose) seemed a little too easy to be realistic. How did nobody witness these things taking place? How did the police not figure this out right away? I did enjoy how the ending wasn‘t completely “happy ever after”. 🌟🌟🌟
I‘ve been away from the one branch of my library for a week and this is what happens 😜😊 Aka my holds are come in when I‘m not here #libraryhaul #workhaul
My name is Laura. My mother‘s favorite name as a child. Possibly coming from the Dick VanDyke show. My handle @BookofWords comes from my son. He was about three when he was pretending to read when he told me “I love your book of words Mama.” And it stuck. Thank you @Chelleo for the #litsyhandle intro!
My #litsyhandle is not nearly as interesting as everyone else‘s! My name is Amber Wilson-Barnard. My students and colleagues are forever calling me Ms Wilson Bernard or Ms Barnard Wilson, so I just go by Ms WB. Which has become Ms B. I suppose there are many worse things I could be called!
@Chelleo
This one also made it into my mailbox this week! It‘s like Christmas in...well, December 🤪! Thanks to @grandcentralpub for the book!

9/10 - This was a real page turner (I read it in 2 days and I'm a busy mumma!), I wanted to work out what was going on and I felt for every single member of Eloise's family (and of course Eloise herself!). A great insight into the seriousness and complexity of mental health and a heartfelt story of motherhood ❤️

This book hooked me in right away, and kept me turning the pages! Told in alternating chapters between an amnesiac woman and a family abruptly missing a wife and mother, the ultimate twist wasn‘t a total shock but it was overall quite entertaining!
Apparently there IS an author named Natasha Barnes, but her book isn't on Litsy (likely bc it's academic--she's a professor). But still, cool! The person who comes up most when you google my name is an artist. #authorwhosharesyourname #autumnreads
Relaxing Sunday! This is a great read so far! Really enjoying it! ❤️☀️📖☕️🍍👒 @HarperCollins
