The Case for Christ
The Case for Christ: A Journalist's Personal Investigation of the Evidence for Jesus | Lee Strobel
Is there credible evidence that Jesus of Nazareth really is the Son of God? Retracing his own spiritual journey from atheism to faith, Lee Strobel, former legal editor of the Chicago Tribune, cross-examines a dozen experts with doctorates from schools like Cambridge, Princeton, and Brandies who are recognized authorities in their fields. Strobel challenges them with questions like How reliable is the New Testament? Does evidence exist for Jesus outside the Bible? Is there any reason to believe the resurrection was an actual event? Strobel's tough, point-blank questions make this remarkable book read like a captivating, fast-paced novel. But it's not fiction. It's a riveting quest for the truth about history's most compelling figure. What will your verdict be in The Case for Christ?

This book was not for ME. Maybe it‘s written more for a person like Strobel himself, at the time, questioning Christianity. It was written at an elementary level, more journalistic than providing facts. I did not learn anything new. I found it difficult to read and disappointing although I generally liked his premise.

To start, I‘m not the most religious person; I consider myself agnostic. I do, however, enjoy reading books about religions, why people believe in what they believe in, etc.. I only gave this a so-so because I feel like you need to have pretty extensive knowledge of the Bible to fully comprehend some of the arguments presented; which is something I don‘t have. I do plan to learn more and revisit this, though, as I think it should be a “pick” 🤘🏻

Slajaunie How is the book? 6y
howjessicareads @Slajaunie - not my pool! A friend‘s, and yes, it‘s gorgeous. 😍 And I‘m definitely enjoying the book. I‘ve had a bit of a faith shift in the last few years, and I‘m doing some related reading this year. 🙂 6y

Written brilliantly in a way that is persuasive without manipulative. I love Lee Strobel's sceptic-mindset. His sceptic-mindset challenge experts to provide rational, logical and reasonable answers.Lee encourage people to draw their own conclusion based on the weight of the evidence that have been found in this book.I love how Lee challenge people to do their own research and to test the found evidence themselves with their logic and common sense.

I heard Lee Strobel speak at an event and he was fantastic. Just finished this one my Bible Study group has been working through and it did not disappoint. I LOVED Lee‘s journalistic approach and how he did so much research. Lots of info, but lots of really good info. Well done. 👍🏼

My Bible Study group has been reading this one. With Lee‘s journalistic approach to it all, the journalist in me ate it up. It‘s been in my TBR stack for a while. Glad to finish today. Now...what to read next? 🤓 #decisionsdecisions

Lee Strobel is speaking at my church right now. The movie based on his book -- his journey from Atheist to Christ follower -- comes out on April 7th.
