#AnglophileApril Day 3: #Wonderwall reminded me of Berlin which I visited twice, one with a friend in 2011, and the other time with husband and daughter in 2016. I always make time to visit the East Berlin Wall, which is, indeed filled with wonders. Pain and grief transmuted into beauty and remembrance.
pickWow. This was a wonderful graphic memoir. Because of its size and shape, I mistook it for a picture book. But it‘s quite dense. Sis is an artist, and he grows up during the Soviet occupation of Czechoslovakia and was a teenager during The Prague Spring. So insightful and informative. Gorgeous illustrations!

pickThis is a fascinating read. I've read the primary documents and the history textbooks but there's something distinctly different to read words of someone's story and analyze the drawings simultaneously. There is so much that can be said in drawings. This is also from the POV of a country that we seem to forget about when looking at the Cold War. I loved this
