Snowpiercer 1: The Escape
Snowpiercer 1: The Escape | Jacques Lob

Snowpiercer is the enthralling and thought-provoking post-apocalyptic graphic novel that inspired the critically acclaimed movie starring Chris Evans (Captain America, Fantastic Four). Originally published in French, this marks the first time that Snowpiercer will be available in English. In a harsh, uncompromisingly cold future where Earth has succumbed to treacherously low temperatures, the last remaining members of humanity travel on a train while the outside world remains encased in ice. The surviving community are not without a social hierarchy; those that travel at the front of the train live in relative luxury whilst those unfortunate enough to be at the rear remain clustered like cattle in claustrophobic darkness. Yet, things are about to change aboard the train as passengers become disgruntled...

SaraFair @Pageturner1 - I did! I enjoyed it. I thought it did a good job or portraying what it would be like on the train, but apparently everyone turns weird lol. Is the movie any good? 4y
Pageturner1 @SaraFair the movie was good 4y

My husband and I are watching Snowpiercer on TNT......we love it!!!! So naturally I needed to check out all three volumes of the graphic novel that started it all. And I totally forgot that my library calculates the total I saved by using the library instead of going to a book store. I saved $75!!! I‘m not against buying books at my local bookstore but I also love to support my library! #snowpiercer #librarybooks #twinsburg #graphicnovels

Interesting French graphic novel. Due to a climate disaster, the world is an uninhabitable frozen wasteland. Survivors live aboard the train Snowpiercer, which is set up by strict class division. When a runaway from third class is caught in second, investigations begin and revolution is in the air. https://cannonballread.com/2019/07/snowpiercer-vol-i-the-escape-elcicco/

Now really sure what to say about this except that they were so SO weird. I admit, sci-fi is not a genre I gravitate to, and graphic novels are new to me, so perhaps I am not the target audience, but I was drawn in by the movie adaptation association. I had a hard time suspending my disbelief for so much of this and found the books deeply disturbing in their depiction of post-apocalyptic social hierarchy. That said, I DID finish them. 🤔
