She wrote poetry, short stories, play and book reviews. She portrayed the neurotic couple in a doomed romance to perfection. She could display in a short story the many facades people used to hide their small cruelties. Dorothy Parker did not suffer fools gladly and wasted no time being P.C. about a work she considered inferior. But she did all of this with a wit and humor that defied anyone to be nasty at their peril.
