Reviewsbylola I have this edition too. I think it‘s time for a reread! I didn‘t enjoy it the first time I read it but it was assigned college reading so maybe I‘ll feel differently this time. 1mo
ElizaMarie @Reviewsbylola : I feel like books that I was forced to read for school I HATED but then afterwards when I re-read them I actually really liked it. I think its the rebel in me that just didn't want to be told what to do? Anyway, I wasn't forced to read this one or anything but... I chose to read it this month and I really enjoyed it! So all in all what I am saying is... try a re-read! 1mo
Reviewsbylola That‘s how I usually am too! 1mo

flying_monkeys One of the best YA books I've read, and I can't wait to see the movie. https://twitter.com/AcevedoWrites/status/1158544534374092801 3mo

I must have subconsciously known today was E.B. White's birthday when I picked #StuartLittle off my #middlegrade pile! I can't believe all the #trueclassics I missed growing up! #bbrc @LibrarianRyan

IamIamIam @MayJasper Aww, thanks!!! That's my table runner!! 😂 5mo
LibrarianRyan You missed this growing up. thank goodness you are reading it now. The movie is okay, but it is not the book. Even Michael j Fox can not give it that power. 5mo
IamIamIam @LibrarianRyan I really slacked off as a kid. I mean, I read a ton but I feel like I read the same things over and over again! Then I found my mom's 80s horror books and it was all over at about 11. Lol... I'm glad I missed some stuff, though, because The Phantom Tollbooth was definitely better for me as an adult. It would have been cute as a kid but I was rolling!!! 5mo
LibrarianRyan @IamIamIam I do that. I too enjoyed phantom tollbooth better as an adult then I did as a kid. Well except for the movie. That i liked better as a kid. 5mo
IamIamIam @LibrarianRyan Ha! I didn't even know there was a movie! I should find it and show the kids! 5mo
LibrarianRyan @IamIamIam Yeah, it's half real, half animated. It was from the early 70's. I saw it way before I ever read the book. It was played frequently on Navy TV when we lived in Guam. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064806/?ref_=nv_sr_1?ref_=nv_sr_1 5mo
IamIamIam @LibrarianRyan YOU LIVED IN GUAM?!? In high school, I wanted to apply to the University of Guam for my self esteem because I heard they didn't reject anyone. 😂 That's so cool!!! Did you enjoy your time there? 5mo
LibrarianRyan @IamIamIam Yes, but I was 4ish - 8 years old. But I have fond memories and amazing pictures. 5mo

Heft: A Novel | Liz Moore
post image

Adoring this so far, I‘m about halfway through. It follows Arthur Opp, a 550 pound man who hasn‘t left his home for nearly 20 years, and Kel, the son of his ex student. Liz Moore‘s writing is so easy to sink into and it flows so well. I loved her other novel The Unseen World too which I read last year. I will definitely be reading more of her stuff!

MayJasper Sounds very interesting. #coversublime 7mo

I'm sad that it took me this long to finally read a volume of Oliver's poetry. She painted beautiful pictures with her words.

MayJasper I really like the look of that collection 9mo

#anewchapter #wife Alanna is an unconventional wife at best - trained as a knight, her life is full of danger, and she‘s often away from home. She & her daughter struggle to connect in later books, and I love how richly marriage is portrayed through the Tortall series.

MayJasper I like your blurb 😊 10mo

I know we are only in January, but this is my favorite read of 2019 so far! I have been on a fairytale retelling spree for a while now, and this is one of the best I have ever read. I will be keeping an eye on Danielle Teller.
