Beautiful writing, family life, theology and a bit of humor- I am enjoying this representation for #Victober.

SaraFair Y‘all must think I am crazy. Went back and realized this is from the 1700s. Should have known by the wigs on the front! 4y

The cover of my book :) I love old books- especially when they‘re pretty 💕 Any other bibliophiles out there?

Amabear Me!!!! 😍 what‘s your oldest? 6y
GingerAntics ME!!! 6y
RavenLovelyReads @Amabear I‘m not sure. We‘ve moved so much that my books have been in storage for a while...it‘s probably this one?? But i only have a few others- my collection is very small. If you share some of yours- would you please tag me? I‘d love to see them 😍 6y

Amabear @RavenLovelyReads yes! I may have a few posted already let me see. 6y
neggers Oh my gosh I adore old books. I have an original copy of David Copperfield I got from Italy with the most amazingly conserved cover. It‘s my prized possession 6y
RavenLovelyReads @neggers Please post a photo! I would love to see it! I lived in Italy for 3 years and all I found was wine, pasta and an extra 20 lbs on my frame 😂 Priorities. 6y
neggers @RavenLovelyReads 😂😂😂 sounds like your priorities were on point. Don‘t see why you‘d do anything else honestly! 6y

The hubby picked this book for me at the Village Bookshop over the weekend. I love that someone received this for Christmas, 1877 from their mother! I‘m enjoying the “coloured illustration “ at the end of every chapter. Any other lovers of old books out there? #oldbooksmell

My edition of this #novel is undated, but it‘s probably from the ‘30s or ‘40s. #oldcoolbooks @Linsy

ladyonequestion Lovely. Also like your decanter and glasses in the background, very classy. 6y

Pickpick

Oliver Goldsmith has been one of my favourite. I'm currently reading The Vicar of Wakefield in my kindle. The language of the book is very smooth and one could taste the spirit of old English.

Some of my treasures: Little Women, 1911 edition, found on our honeymoon; Jo's Boys, 1937 edition with color illustrations, inherited from my husband's grandmother (did I mention we visited Orchard House on our honeymoon?); Vicar of Wakefield, no date, but after 1773, with gorgeous illustrations, given to us by a local bookseller; The Poetical Works of Sir Walter Scott, 1893 edition, found at a university book sale.

PurpleyPumpkin Wow, these are beautiful!😍 8y
