Beautiful writing, family life, theology and a bit of humor- I am enjoying this representation for #Victober.

The cover of my book :) I love old books- especially when they‘re pretty 💕 Any other bibliophiles out there?
The hubby picked this book for me at the Village Bookshop over the weekend. I love that someone received this for Christmas, 1877 from their mother! I‘m enjoying the “coloured illustration “ at the end of every chapter. Any other lovers of old books out there? #oldbooksmell
My edition of this #novel is undated, but it‘s probably from the ‘30s or ‘40s. #oldcoolbooks @Linsy

"I love everything that's old,-old friends, old times, old manners, old book, old wine" - Oliver Goldsmith
I've been meaning to read this ever since I found out #rebelgirl Jo March read it in Little Women. 😊 #vicar #150PnPCoverParty #fiercefeb
Oliver Goldsmith has been one of my favourite. I'm currently reading The Vicar of Wakefield in my kindle. The language of the book is very smooth and one could taste the spirit of old English.
The poorer the guest, the better pleased he ever is with being treated

Some of my treasures: Little Women, 1911 edition, found on our honeymoon; Jo's Boys, 1937 edition with color illustrations, inherited from my husband's grandmother (did I mention we visited Orchard House on our honeymoon?); Vicar of Wakefield, no date, but after 1773, with gorgeous illustrations, given to us by a local bookseller; The Poetical Works of Sir Walter Scott, 1893 edition, found at a university book sale.
