I have read quite a lot of books this was long-winded it could have been shorter and still had been a great read… I liked it but it won‘t get into my top 10 reads

I feel like I am way late to the party on this one but I just got this book and I hope to start it soon. I have heard awesome things about this series!

Book mail … so for Empire of Silence it was recommended to me by a friend… I‘ll see if he‘s really a friend after I read it… jk he‘s a friend of the hubbies 🙌🏽📖
If you like good sci-fi, the Sun Eater series is for you. Christopher Ruochhio is an outstanding writer and he has crafted a galaxy that I can't wait to explore.
This is a hardcover I‘ve had on my Most Wanted list for years.
It‘s difficult to find, might be out of print.
It finally came in the mail today. 🎉
Is there a book you‘d really love to find at a reasonable price or a cost you could justify?!
Best find ever!!
🎧 OK I read this weeks ago and was going to think about my review before I posted it … and forgot to post it until just now when I was writing my November wrap up.
It was dense. I really enjoyed this book. It‘s slow. Bunch of world building. MC character growth. Not much focus on women. The protagonist is very likable. It‘s epic space opera written in the vein of fantasy.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
Only 200 pages in but this is the best space opera I've read in years.
A mini-haul around the lamp that I finally painted green to fit into my room decoration. I'm proud of my finished DIY project, and looking forward to these books
Christopher Ruocchio‘s epic SF novel (the first in a series) has some interesting world building and a great sense of scale but the plot is far too predictable (hindered by the fact that Hadrian is writing his own memoir, which robs the book of any sense of jeopardy), the pacing is tortuously slow, Hadrian makes dumb decision for no good reason and the female characters painfully underdeveloped such that I won‘t be reading on.
Between buying used and new books I kind of failed not getting too many books this month. But at least five of them are used, so it's a bit like recycling in a hoarding way, right?
It promises space opera in the style of epic fantasy, and it holds the promise! The start of a promising new series. I want the next book right now 😁
Just picked this up today! I've been really excited to get my hands on it.
I need to finish off a shwack of stuffs I'm already reading (I dare not start yet another book) but will get my eyeballs into it closer to the end of the month! 🤘
If you love truly epic scifi then I highly recommend checking out Empire of Silence when it hits shelves next week (the 3rd!). Excellent world building, a main character with flaws, humility, and the desire to learn AND a fantastic cast of characters surrounding him. This one has enough power behind it that I think this series might go far.
Reading Empire of Silence while the boyfriend plays Assassin's Creed. I forgot I even had the game (never finished it) and we found it today.
