AutumnRLS This has been on my radar forever. Definitely getting to it sometime this year! 2y
JuliaTheBookNerd @AutumnRLS I hope you like it when you get to it, I will warn you that people seem to either love or hate it 😬 It is very dark and takes a bit to get into it but I loved it 🖤 (edited) 2y

I‘m gonna post a book (or series) from my TBR every day until I‘ve shared the lot. No descriptions. No explanations. Just a whole bunch of books I haven‘t read yet.

This is Day 22.

I read the whole trilogy and loved every second of it. You know the author‘s doing something right when your favorite character is a torturer working for the Inquisition. Somehow he made him sympathetic. I also liked the fact that Glokta was once tortured himself and is now doing the torturing. It has a certain symmetry to it. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

So I do a why you should read / what to expect video on first law. For me, it was all about the characters!!
Check out my video if you have a few minutes and let me know what you think!!

gallowbraids I love this whole world that Joe made. Such an great universe 4y
RobStark92 @gallowbraids yeah it was pretty dope I really liked it. I‘ll be reading the next books soon, just want to give this some time to sink in. If you have a minute maybe check my video out and see if we have some ideas we can discuss ? Also who is your favorite character? 4y
gallowbraids If you love this series then you will greatly enjoy the Tower of Babel series by Josiah Bancroft. 4y

gallowbraids Logan, of course! I tried to make him as a character on ESO (Elder Scrolls Online) but someone beat me to the punch. Sure thing! I will check it out. 4y
RobStark92 @gallowbraids Logen is my favorite as well he‘s so bad@$$ although Glokta was fun as well that sneaky little creeper 😇 4y
gallowbraids I bought the new book that just came out but I read the first three novels and the next three off novels years ago. I started re-reading the first book but I have such a hard time re-reading novels. 4y
RobStark92 @gallowbraids Age of Madness was discounted on Kindle for $2.99 😁 I would just skim the books or check the synopsis on wiki instead of doing an entire reread so you‘re refreshed. 4y
gallowbraids @RobStark92 This is true, and I thought about it because I really wanna read this new book. I just finished two books and am into a new one now (360+ pages) so aahhhhh, I dunno. I feel like I am cheating lol 4y

A wonderful weave of complex flawed characters trying to make their way in a diverse changing world, quite different and yet not so different from our own medieval times. While this tells you nothing about the story or plot, the world is rich in detail and the differences are alluring in their own right.

Well worth the read and better in Audible format, Steven Pacey brings the characters to life as if he were made for the role.

Kind of in between reading books. Haven't found a book that has fit in to my mood as of yet. Tried reading books from some of my favorite authors, but they fall a bit flat.

Dislike this period of time from one book to the next.

#agameoffavorites Fantasy because it's my ultimate favorite genre! I'm going with Joe Abercrombie who is funny and snarky and it shows in this series. He doesn't say what his favorite book is and I quote "It's like if you were asked to choose your favorite tool. Well, a saw's fantastic, until you need to hammer a nail in."

Check out this great Rothfuss interview - https://blog.patrickrothfuss.com/2009/12/abercrombie-books-and-interview/

TrishB I‘ve been to see him at a book reading - he is very funny and snarky! Hubby came to the reading with me as a book friend couldn‘t come at the last minute- he said he made him want to read his books! And he has read a couple 😁 6y
Jovy @TrishB Arrghhh!! I'm so jealous 😍 6y
JulAnna I love that quote! Exactly how I feel, I practically freeze when someone asks me what my favorite book is (and I simply cannot answer with just one title 😂) 6y
