I've been wanting to read this since I finished The Deep, and I must say this was better! It falls more on the side of gross and disgusting than scary. I am not a fan of worms and after this book, I really really don't want to be anywhere near one! A good solid book if you have a strong stomach. And Corey Brill was spot on.

Bookzombie I definitely liked this one better than The Deep. I read this one first though. 🙂 5d
Reggie I like both equally for different reasons. But the part with the monkey and the part with the turtle...😲. I liked his little part about strong names and then he introduces you to Shelly. Lol p.s. skip Little Heaven, it was bad. @Bookzombie 5d
Bookzombie @Reggie Every time I run across Little Heaven I think ‘Reggie did not like this one.‘ Lol. 5d

This started out so so good, and then petered out. I do get that it's more a character study than a thriller and I did appreciate the tension resonating from the book. It totally makes you think twice about leaving your kids with just anybody. But the ending lacked resolution for me.

This was an impressive debut from Angie Kim. A riveting courtroom drama with authentic characters. The mystery will draw you in but it's the powerful, honest portrayal of parenthood, disability care, and immigration that will make you fall. One of my favorite reads this year!

Trying to complete the First Law books before I delve into Abercrombie's much anticipated return to this beloved universe (A Little Hatred came out in September).

Red Country is installment 6 and does not disappoint. Because Logen Ninefingers is back!! Nuff said 😍

But seriously, if you like Westerns with a bit of fantasy, great dialogue and plenty of fun and adventure, this book gives it to you.

The final installment in the Farseer trilogy was long, sometimes exhausting, but the end was most satisfying! Hobb is a master storyteller - I am completely in love with all the characters (except maybe for Regal). And I think Nighteyes might be the wisest of them all.

I did not dislike this book, but did not love it either. I don't know, there's just something missing. The writing was good, and while I thought the "outside looking in" perspective was unique, it was probably the reason why I never felt the connection with the Lisbon girls. Still, I'm glad to have checked this classic off my TBR list. I might rent the movie to see if that's better.

My last prompt for winter #Booked2019 - #femaledetective. French's in depth characterization is superb! It makes you forget how improbable the entire premise of the book is.
