Last week's book haul.
Last week's book haul.
Spirals and spirals. Got Beyond the Black Door today in the mail and started to panic that I already had a copy. Nope, just a cover trend I guess. Looks like they have my number! 🤣
I can't wait until I have a minute to really sit and read this. I probably could have read it in one epic sitting if people would just stop interrupting me. I seriously need to know what happens next. It's so good.
Heartbreaking and thought provoking. Definitely an important book that leaves the reader with more questions than answers. Trigger warnings for rape and suicide.
Finally got Every Heart A Doorway. Also picked up The Similars as a $5 promotional book at the Barnes and Noble cafe. Ginger, my shy schnauzer, seems interested. ❤
Fall fair all set up. We sold so much I'm going to have to order several boxes of replacements to get us through the week. Today we provided over 200 students with free books! I love being Scholastic chairperson for our PTA! ❤🍎📚
Book mail! The inside looks awesome and I can't wait to work on it (it's meant to be written in and used like an inspiration journal). Also, I love Felicia Day. She might be my spirit animal. As a side note, Gallery Books needs to NEVER use this cover texture again. It feels like sandpaper.
#7days7covers #covercrush day five. I love the melding of fighting and sewing on the cover. I love the easy way she holds the scissors and the way the thread is wrapped around them. Also, the cadmium yellow endsheets make for a beautiful contrast. Not gonna lie, picked this book up because of its cover.
Oh man. This book was not overhyped. I might be headed into a serious book slump because... wow. Gideon is an incredible character and I loved the world building. I am already eagerly awaiting the next installment.
Today has been tough. Had to hold down my very upset six-year-old during a tooth extraction (baby molar with bad infection). He's totally fine now. I'm totally traumatized. So when the mail came, I was totally surprised by the arrival of the final book in the trilogy that I've been impatiently waiting for. At least there are always books!
I've been falling behind on my posts lately. With school starting and the first book fair only a month away I've been pretty busy. But never fear! I continue to buy books at a faster clip than I can read them ? enabled by my trusty podcasts at #bookriot and #readingglasses, who whisper in my ear, "You need to get this book." Yes, I do. I needed these books.
Heard this was disturbing and mind-bendy. Sounds right up my ally. Definitely my next read after I finish Hollow Kingdom.
Picked these two up at the library while I was in to get the Hank Green book. Hoping to finish all three before the end of the month. We'll see, I've got the book fair to organize, my birthday in two weeks, and I'm thinking about doing some volunteer transcription for the Library of Congress, to name just a few things that could get in my way.
Because my Pheonix Empress didn't arrive today, I'm contenting myself with reading a bunch of different nonfiction. Can you read multiple books at one time? I can with nonfiction, but not so much with fiction. I barely even like reading different series at the same time (which admittedly gets difficult with all the Martins and Rothfusses in the world.)
