Indeed, this trend is understandable when you consider the benefits of audio books over paperback books. Discover everything you need to know by grabbing a copy of this ebook today.

1. Sometimes. Nut But it's still a new thing for me.
2. Walking or getting ready for work in the morning. Sometimes driving.
3. Reading, writing, having the tv on. I don't know. I'm still new at audiobooks.
4. When the reader doesn't sound like it would sound in my head. Or the reader doesn't have distinct voices for different characters so it all sounds the same.
5. So far only regular speed.

Question: What devices do you littens use for your audio walks? I would love to start trying them more for my walks and when I do puzzles. Keep in mind that I have an Android and I have a Kindle fire, however; I've been thinking of getting the Paperwhite. Any recommendations for apps or library resources are welcome too ❤📚

knittedgnome I use the Libby app through my library. Super easy! There often is a wait but you can put them on hold. 6y
britt_brooke I use Overdrive and Audible through the apps on my iPhone. Works perfectly. 6y
JoScho I use scribd 😃 6y

DivineDiana I borrow a Playaway from the Library! 6y
MoniqueReads305 The apps I use are Audible and Hoopla. My library also gives me access to Libby/Overdrive. My favorite accessory to use is Bluetooth headphones. 6y
kspenmoll I use audible, Libby, Overdrive( both Library apps) just use earbuds & phone. 6y

1🎧 Yes!
2🎧 sudoku or any cards game
3🎧 anything with written words: if I read something different from what I'm listening to, I can't focus 😞
4🎧 if I have to re-listen a phrase it's not so easy to go back to the exact point
5🎧 Regular

Ke633 I hate trying to find my place again!! It‘s impossible! Thanks for sharing! 6y
La_Cori @Ke633 it was fun, thanks!!! 😊 6y

1. I have in the last four months. 2. Clean or just chill 3. Litsy. 4. Some of the narrators are just annoying. That and it takes too long. I read much quicker. 5. 1.25 or 1.50 depending on the narrator. #tellmetuesday

1. Yes - took me a bit to get into them but now I love them
2. Playing games on my phone; crocheting; colouring
3. Anything with unpredictable/variable noise... dishes, most chores, commuting... Anything that involves reading text... social media, work
4. Narrator is important, poorly done accents/character voices can be annoying.
5. Almost always regular speed. Occasionally 1.25x

1. Oh yeah!😍
2. Coloring
3. Listen to my husband complaining about the traffic.
4. Can't afford all the ones I want.
5. Regular unless narrator talk slow then 1.25 speed.

Ke633 Coloring sounds fun!! Thanks for the idea! 6y
TheSpineView @Ke633 If you like adult coloring, you should try adult paint by numbers. I find them both to be great stress relievers. 6y

1. Heck yes I do.
2. Probably work or drive or chores lol
3. Watch TV, keep car windows rolled down
4. I'm usually doing something while listening so if a good quote is used I'm unable to capture it.
5. Faster, I sped up a slow talker once and now anything at regular speed seems like it's coming through molasses.

Ke633 I always speed it up too. Thanks for sharing! 6y

What are people‘s recommendations for their favourite audiobooks?

Andrew65 @Literary_Siren Thanks, 👍 6y
See All 32 Comments
Andrew65 @Literary_Siren Been meaning to read this one a while! 6y
Literary_Siren It‘s so good! 6y
Andrew65 @DGRachel I need to get to book 2 in the Red Rising Series. Would #No1FanGirl recommend audiobook or physical/ebook? 6y
Andrew65 @CSeydel This one seems very interesting! 6y
DGRachel #No1FanGirl thinks print is best for the first read, but audiobook is excellent. 😊 How did you read RR? If you did the audiobook and enjoyed it, then stick with it. Tim Gerard Reynolds does do an excellent job, but I find my mind sometimes wanders with audiobooks, so I tend to use them for rereads only, or for books I‘m struggling with in print. 6y
DGRachel I also second @AmyG Born a Crime was phenomenal on audiobook. 6y
Andrew65 @DGRachel I did it as an audiobook but giving the way you rave about it, think I missed some of the feel. 6y
CSeydel I don‘t listen to a lot of audio books, but this one works because of all the different characters. It‘s a very strange concept for a book, and honestly I have found it helpful to have the print copy on hand to cross-reference certain parts that didn‘t gel in the audio. And my husband is using the print copy to skim the sections that consist of a series of quotes from historical references, because it‘s tedious listening to all the attributions. 6y
CSeydel But overall I‘m finding it quite entertaining on audio. 6y
Andrew65 @CSeydel I quite often like a copy of the book to use alongside the audiobook. I‘m doing a lot of travelling in the Summer so like to use audiobooks for these journeys. Thanks for the extra information. 👍 (edited) 6y
DGRachel GS is a better book all around than RR, IMO. It doesn‘t have the same Hunger Games knock-off feel. I can tell you that @dsfisher detested the RR audiobook and almost refused to pick up the print book because she tried audiobook first. She ended up enjoying RR in print. I say, if you liked TGR as a narrator for RR, and this is the only way you‘ll get around to GS soon, then do audio. If you have time to read in print, then take the time. 6y
Andrew65 @DGRachel Thanks will check out availability of both and make a decision. 6y
Rayleigh_LitAp I loved the most recent one I listened to, The Liberty Box by C.A. Gray. It's a Dystopian book about a brainwashed civilization and how select individuals claim their freedom and attempt to rescue others. It's on Audible, not sure which platform you're using. 6y
Andrew65 @Rayleigh_LitAp I use Audible, Kobo and libraries. Thanks I will check it out. 6y
AmandaL I also enjoyed the audiobook I just finished 6y
KarouBlue It‘s incredible. I was in love from the first line! 6y
manifestsanity An amazing experience. Unbelievable narrator. 6y
Lmstraubie Before the Fall, The Jackaby series (mysteries, but funny too) & The Lady Hardcastle Mysteries 6y
toofondofbooks The Chaos Walking trilogy is really good on audio. Also anything by Neil Gaiman bc he does his own narration. 6y
Crewgurl The Finishing School series! 6y
Andrew65 @Lmstraubie Funnily enough thought of you and downloaded the first audiobook in the Lacy Hardcastle mysteries last night and started listening to it today. 👍 6y
Andrew65 @toofondofbooks Do need to listen to more by Neil Gaiman, and listened to the Chaos Walking Trilogy earlier this agree. Agree with your recommendation, they were great audiobooks. 😊 6y
Andrew65 Thanks for the recommendations @AmandaL @MellieAntoinete @manifestsanity @Crewgurl Will check them out. 6y
