ESOL strategy 3 can be used here to encourage students to talk about what THEY might be! Try this website for a few resources in the classroom https://www.teachingbooks.net/tb.cgi?tid=44714 4y

The Wonderful Things You Will Be, a realistic fiction(RF) picture book, is an amazing book from a parents perspective to their child. It is one of my favorites because it shares all of the possibilities there are in the world and encourages children to do something great in their future. I would use this in my classroom as a read aloud(RA) followed by this lesson plan.

morganhillman http://readwritethink.org/classroom-resources/lesson-plans/poem-possibilities-th.... The UDL principle 7.1, optimize individual choice and autonomy, is met as each student gets to write about what they want to personally do in the future. The EL principle 6, continually monitor students‘ comprehension, is met as they each use the read aloud to help encourage them to write what they want to do with their lives! #UCFLAE3414SP18 7y

"When I look at you, and you look at me, I wonder what wonderful things you will be."

It's so totally heartstring-pulling, and I kind of hate that it gets me every single time, but I adore this book (recommended to me by the lovely booksellers at Volumes Books in Chicago) and so does V.

I was thinking about this book today as I am looking to have my oldest start kindergarten this week. ?
This book tugs at my mom heartstrings. ? I love how it goes through "wondering" what amazing things your child will do and who your child will be. It's a touching read ?, and a great book for a new mom or any parent.
