Leverage in Death
Leverage in Death: An Eve Dallas Novel (In Death, Book 47) | J. D. Robb
21 posts | 27 read | 5 to read
Lieutenant Eve Dallas puzzles over a bizarre suicide bombing in a Wall St. office building in Leverage in Death, the latest in the #1 New York Times bestselling series from J.D. Robb... For the airline executives finalizing a merger that would make news in the business world, the nine a.m. meeting would be a major milestone. But after marketing VP Paul Rogan walked into the plush conference room, strapped with explosives, the headlines told of death and destruction instead. The NYPSDs Eve Dallas confirms that Rogan was cruelly coerced by two masked men holding his family hostage. His motive was saving his wife and daughterbut what was the motive of the masked men? Despite the chaos and bad publicity, blowing up one meeting isnt going to put the brakes on the merger. All its accomplished is shattering a lot of innocent lives. Now, with the help of her billionaire husband Roarke, Eve must untangle the reason for an inexplicable act of terror, look at suspects inside and outside both corporations, and determine whether the root of this crime lies in simple sabotage, or something far more complex and twisted.

I tend to read several books at one time so when I got a free month of Audible I grabbed Leverage with a credit. I'm not big on audio but said what the hey. Anyway I'm through chapter one and the voice of Peabody is irritating me. The narrator makes her sound old and tired like a ding bat Barbara Walters smh. I wish the reading was more realistic and less funny voices. Oh well I'll keep going even if it's grating.

I‘m slowly pulling out of this reading slump. Bought this last night at Target & just finished it. I enjoy the In Death series despite the formulating and predictable story line. A solid 3 stars.

kimmypete1 I enjoy the In Death series despite the fact that they all follow the same formula. They‘re my go to when I‘m looking for a mystery. 6y

DivineDiana Such dedication! 👏🏻📚❤️ 6y
Sills @tpixie Wow you are so impressive-you're my favorite bookie❤️ 6y
tpixie @DivineDiana @sills it just snuck up on me! My 3 other favorite series are James Patterson‘s Alex Cross, Kathy Reich‘s Temperence Brennon (Bones on TV is based on this), & Patricia Cromwell‘s Scarpetta ! 6y

MicheleinPhilly That‘s incredible! I get twitchy when a series has 6+ entries. I can‘t even imagine tackling one with almost 50! 6y
tpixie @MicheleinPhilly yes! Me too! I think the secret was I started them in their early stages/beginning- lol so I had no idea what I was getting into!!! 6y
CoverToCoverGirl Not a fan of her other works but love this series too! 6y

Thought I would play @Eggs!
1. I mostly do Library, because I am disabled and they usually get whatever book I won't. Sometimes at Christmas I do go to bookstores, though.
2. Going to a Fish Fry/Fund Raiser with hubby Friday night.
3. The In Death Series by J D Robb
4. I Know You Know by Gillian McMillan
5. @tracey38 @SilversReviews not new, but only ones I can remember off the top of my head

SilversReviews Thanks for the tag. 6y

Finished this one last night. Another great book in this long-running series.
I am so sad that my reading time is less than half what it used to be, but I still try to read a little each night before bed.
Happy Thursday!

A beautiful day in the 70s today! And because I am in training at the main campus, I got a longer lunch, so ate outside under this beautiful blue sky, and got a little bit of reading done. Wish I could have stayed out there all day!

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Yay!!! 🌞❤️ 6y
tracey38 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks then today it went back to the 30s. It was nice while it lasted last week... a bit of a false spring. 6y

Well, my reading time has diminished greatly with this new job. I'm at training this week outside of my actual new clinic, and got here early so I could miss the worst of rush hour. Now I have an extra 30 minutes to read before I go in! (Also, I am so tired!)

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Have a good day!! ❤️ 6y
tracey38 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks oh my gosh, I am so glad to be home! 6y

A home invasion, a man wearing a bomb, Dallas and Peabody have an emotional case to solve. Highly recommend.

Love, Love, Love this series. Eve is called to a suicide bomber, but looks are deceiving. She has to figure out, with the help of Roark, if this is sabotage or something more sinister. If you're not reading this series, you are missing some great books.

So excited to start. I love this series involving Eve and Roark. Oh, how I wish I was Eve, just to be married to Roark😋

tracey38 Me, too! I love this series and am all caught up, except for this book. 6y
MonicaLoves2Read @tracey38 So do I! I plan on finishing it today. I was busy this weekend and didn't get a chance to read that much. 6y
tracey38 @Monica5 yeah, I didn't get a chance to read much this weekend either. 6y

Another super fast and gripping read; there‘s a reason I keep coming back to this series. I loved seeing how Eve has grown (actually how everyone has grown) and that growth is pretty evident in this book. The crime itself is also really interesting and kept me hooked.
