The Pint of No Return
The Pint of No Return: A Mystery | Ellie Alexander
13 posts | 13 read | 6 to read
Amateur sleuth Sloan Krause returns in The Pint of No Return, another delightful cozy by Ellie Alexanderthis time investigating a movie star who's murdered not long after arriving in Leavenworth, WA to film his latest project. No other festival compares to Oktoberfest in Leavenworth, Washington. The whole town is buzzing with excitement over this years activities and eagerly awaiting Nitros latest offering Cherrywizen, made with locally sourced cherries. But local brewmaster Sloan Krause is tapped out. Between trying to manage the pub, her pending divorce with Mac, and her mounting feelings for Garrett, shes fermenting in internal turmoil. To complicate matters, dreamy movie star Mitchell Morgan and his production crew have arrived in the village to film during the authentic Bavarian brewfest. Mitchell has his eye on Sloan and a taste for Nitros Cherrywizen. Sloan escapes his advances for good when she finds Mitchell slumped over the bar. Is this a case of one pint too many, or has Mitchell been murdered by microbrew? A charming new series . . . fascinating and fun.Kate Carlisle A hopping good cozy mystery. Meg Macy

My brother-in-law got married this weekend a few hours away, and along the drive, I spotted one of my favourite breweries. Grabbed some pints to bring home with me. The perfect treat with which to finish off this book. I'll definitely be continuing this beer-infused cozy series. So much fun.

LaraS I always stop at Perth Brewery when we have to go through Perth on road trips, too! I also recently discovered Top Shelf Distillers, another Perth gem that has creative liquors, and a bunch of dangerously good cocktail recipes on their website (in case you‘re ever in a non-beer mood or need a fun gift). A few times they‘ve come out with escape room/murder mystery style board games games that include a bunch o‘ cocktail ingredients. 😁 🍹 9mo
ShyBookOwl @LaraS Omg, that sounds so fun! Will definitely check them out! Thx 9mo

Book 2. Why not?
I feel like this beer (whipped frosting DIPA) is the perfect pairing for this cozy mystery series set at a brewery.

Leftcoastzen Way cool can! 10mo

I really like this cozy mystery series set in the little town of Leavenworth. They have several breweries, and Sloan Kraus is a brewer. During the festivities of Oktoberfest, she stumbles upon a dead body. She's not only convinced it was a murder, but she thinks she knows who did it.

bookishdawg This looks fun! I haven‘t been to Leavenworth in years so this will be a chance to visit ❤️ 2y

I thoroughly enjoyed this Elllie Alexander mystery. Love that she has a new series, this one set in Washington, and all about breweries. Have you read her Kate Dyer Seeley series, set in the Pacific Northwest with Meg the journalist? Also love the Bakeshop mystery series set in Ashland Oregon by the Shakespeare Festival. That one is super. Every little town should have a café like that. And every town should have a character like Lance!

SamanthaMarie I LOVE Ellie Alexander. I zipped through all of her Bakeshop Mystery books while I was sick and just finished the two Sloan Krause books. I will need to look into the other series you mentioned :) Welcome to Litsy 🎉🥳 5y
Millesent @SamanthaMarie There is a new Sloan Krauss and a new bakeshop mystery both coming out very soon. They both might be September. The bakeshop one will be about Christmas. And yes I think you would enjoy the Pacific Northwest series with Meg the journalist. 5y
SamanthaMarie Yes!! I totally have both preordered!!! The Sloan one comes out in October and I can't wait for either. So glad to find another fan :) 5y
Bakingbookworm I just finished the first book in the series and promptly started this book. I have an advanced copy of the third and didn‘t want to miss the beginning of Sloan‘s story. So far, I‘m really enjoying them. 5y

Another great cozy by Ellie. Wasn‘t hard to feel at home as Leavenworth was celebrating Oktoberfest. It‘s kind of a big deal here in Kitchener. It left me craving a pint and the next book.

ReadingEnvy Are all of them set in Leavenworth? 5y
Millesent The next one should be out soon, in October I believe, I have it on pre-order. Have you read her bakeshop mysteries, and her flower shop mysteries? She also writes as Kate Dyer Seeley and has a pacific northwest series. 5y

A fun cozy mystery series set in the charming Bavarian town of Leavenworth, WA. Light on mystery, but where this book shines is with the setting and the characters. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

Millesent I so enjoy Ellie Alexander, especially this series. The new book should be coming out fall 2019. Do you read her other series, the bakeshop mysteries, and the flower shop mysteries? She also has a series written under Kate Dyer Seeley set in the Pacific Northwest. 5y
