Everywhere we turn, we hear negative financial news--that theAmerican Dream is dead or that the little man can't get ahead. In his newest book, Everyday Millionaires: How Ordinary PeopleBuilt Extraordinary Wealth--and How You Can Too, Chris Hogandestroys millionaire myths that are keeping everyday peoplefrom achieving financial independence. Chris and the Ramseyresearch team surveyed over 10,000 US millionaires, discovering how these high-net-worth people reached theirfinancial status. And the formula might surprise you. Millionaire status doesn't require inheriting a bunch of money orhaving a high-paying job. No. The path to becoming a millionaire ispaved with more-ordinary tools--tools that you either already haveor that you can learn. If you thought you could never become amillionaire, think again. Listen and learn from over 10,000 everydaymillionaires who have done it and believe it's possible for you too.

Getting back into this gem for some motivation. Has anybody here ever worked as a transcriber? I need a job that I can do from anywhere (or with laptop and WiFi as in this case) to make a little extra cash in my free time. I‘m not good at selling things to people so those businesses don‘t work for me (I‘ve tried). I started transcribing today and man, it‘s hard. Terrible audios, difficult accents, so many people talking at once... any tips y‘all?

Shawlz I have a friend who works as a transcriber and it's a pretty tough job. It requires lots of patience and dedication. You will be fine. 5y

I finished Today We Go Home but my kindle needs some charging so while that is happening, I‘ll be working on this. I borrowed it from a friend so I really don‘t want to be holding on to it for too long. While I don‘t follow Dave Ramsey‘s plan 100%, he still has turned around my financial life. I‘ve never been a terrible spender but there was definitely room for improvement, which is happening thanks to him. Hopefully Chris Hogan can add to that.

TheAromaofBooks I feel the same way about Ramsey. He was a great place to start, and while I didn't agree with or need 100% of his theory, my husband and I were able to glean a lot of useful stuff. We weren't bad at money per se, but Ramsey did help us start being more purposeful with it. I'll be interested to see what you are able to get out of Hogan's book! 5y

Solid principles but lots of repetition.
I would highly recommend reviewing these lessons if you're looking for financial help.
The stories are nice and can be inspirational but they do tend to become repetitive.

I don't entirely agree. Yes, you should work hard regardless of your alma mater. Will employers value certain higher education institutions more than others? 100%.
Certain schools carry with it clout that your diploma associates with you for life.
A law degree from Duke carries more weight than a local tech school.

Hogan breaks down a survey of 10,000 millionaires in the U.S. to explain qualities and practices they have in common, break down myths about millionaires, and give you advice how to build wealth too. Practical info delivered like a motivational speaker, and very repetitive.
