My little dumpling takes a literal turn. It reminded me of Into the Night Kitchen.

I liked this one, with a message of following your dreams. Yamaguchi‘s text has a cadence to it that flows very well for a read aloud. The illustrations are delightful. The end had me chuckle a little. #PictureBook #BBRC #LetterD
#NewYearNewBooks #Dream I read this years ago and am surprised I can‘t find my copy. I remember feeling like I was becoming a more serious reader when I found Delmore as an influence of some writer I was enamored with. Believe me you had to do some looking for books in the pre internet age. There is a newer edition with a forward by Lou Reed , who was his student at Syracuse. I need to find that one , haven‘t read that introduction.😁
“Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete? Proving nature's laws wrong, it learned to walk without having feet. Funny, it seems to by keeping it's dreams; it learned to breathe fresh air. Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one else even cared.”

Turned out to be more nightmare than #Dream. Fascinating discussion with Ariel when it first came out. She's charming and so deep into her research. #Signed. Looking forward to her newest, The Frozen River, for #NewYearNewBooks @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
