The story centres around Henri, his son Samuel and ex-lover Edwina. Henri has never met Samuel and many years ago spawned Edwina‘s love. It is on his way to rectify one of these relationships that he is hit by a car and enters a comatose state.
Death is something that is very much at the forefront of my experiences lately and this book makes us consider the choices we make everyday about who we are and what path we are on.
This was a complicated book for me. There were parts I really liked and parts I didn't like at all. It would probably make for a good book club discussion.
I rooted for the best possible outcome as I worked my way through the pages of this very moving book. And… yet…. I can't quite put my finger on it… it just falls a bit flat. Perhaps Nina George is trying to accomplish too much with this work.
I liked this book and was appropriately moved by it. The story raises interesting questions in a moving way, and I'd recommend this book to those who wonder about the 'in-between'. #booked2019
Meh. The title says it all. It was a book of dreams. I may have liked it more if it wasn't long and drawn out.
Heartbreakingly sad, The Book Of Dreams asks us about what it means to love in light of our own mortality. The author‘s post-script was a wonderful touch, and added to the poignancy. It reminded me a little of Backman and his ability to hit you in the feels with a simple sentence. I really enjoyed it.

This was a complete #coverbuy for me, but it sounds heartwarming and heartbreaking all at the same time.
This was truly wonderful. Full of beautiful imagery and intense emotions. It explores life and death and what's in between, and all the different paths our lives can take based on one choice or just one sentence. Highly recommend.

Beautifully written book about alternate life paths and ultimate happiness. Loved the characters and writing style. Thank you #penguinrandomhouse and #ninageorge for the ARC.
A revelatory, urgently human story that examines what we consider serious and painful alongside light and whimsy, THE BOOK OF DREAMS is a tender meditation on memory, liminality, and empathy, asking with grace and gravitas what we will truly find meaningful in our lives once we are gone.
