The library where I work is nestled at the very bottom of a tall, tall hill. Strangely, my First Love used to live on the tippetty-top of it. I didn‘t have much time for my #bookfitnesschallenge today, so I decided to see what it would feel like to hike up it again. When I got to the summit, I found that the family who‘d bought his house painted it green. 👇🏻
monalyisha 1/1: There was a statue of Saint Francis featured prominently in the garden, which his mother, who was a staunch atheist/Professor of Biology, never would have allowed. The chili pepper lights ringing his back porch were conspicuously absent. But I remembered the burning in my chest & the flush of my cheeks; this time, those feelings came only from scaling the incline. 💖 (edited) 6y
