#sweetsummerstack @Liberty This book definitely reminds me of summer! As the father is kidnapping (well, it's up to the reader to decide if it's truly kidnapping or not) his daughter, they go on trips to the beach. It also reminds me that I was listening to it on audiobook and never finished it. I should get it out from the library and see how it ends!

pickErik writes his story in jail as he awaits trial for the abduction of his daughter. (No spoiler - you discover this in the first sentence of the book.) It is his attempt to explain what led him there. His attempt, really, to explain who he is. We only hear his POV and it is a fascinating way to tell the story. Beautiful writing. Great audio.
Lovely moving book, about a road trip that's perilously close to a kidnapping. I loved the author's nods to 'Lolita', and how this book turned that plot on its head. Both based on true stories, 'Schroder ' is lyrical, in a way that in my opinion, 'Lolita' is not.
Halfway Status Update - This seems to be the fictionalized account of the Clark Rockefeller case just a couple of years ago, even including a black SUV (though used by a different party in the book.) If not original, still compelling. Will Collyer is the narrator who assumes the role of Eric Kennedy like a second skin.
pick4🌟story, 5🌟narrator! Will Collyer made this book. Finally, I get audiobooks! The story is about a man who assumes an identity as a teen, and then 20+ years later kidnaps his daughter in a custody battle. The story drags a bit at times, but he keeps it interesting with his incredible vocal range!
Audiobooks are good for nearly 2 hours in the dentist's chair! Finally finished it. 😃👍🏻 Review tomorrow, but this is definitely a good listen/read.
Driving back, I talked on the phone more, so I didn't make as much progress. I'll have to finish it up when I exercise. The book is still awesome 👍🏻

pickMy Book of the Day calendar pick for today made me happy. This is one of my favorite audiobooks. Narrated by Will Collyer, this had me sitting in my car long after I'd arrived at my destination. Everything about this made me happy.
