I don‘t know how I missed this book when it was released, but I‘m so glad I discovered it. Excellent read that forces you to rethink everything you thought you knew about the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

Staying at a historic bed-and-breakfast in Baltimore while visiting our youngest son. It has a lovely patio where I‘m enjoying a good book and a cup of tea. 🥰

Spent a weekend at Lake Sunapee in New Hampshire. Came across two different yet wonderful independent bookstores —one new and one used. Here‘s my #bookhaul. 🥰

Award alert. If I was a gambling woman, I would put money on this book being featured in most of the 2020 book award lists. Best wishes to this book and author, I hope they both do well.

With characters you get deeply invested in, Correspondents is a perfect read for anyone looking for humanity in an extremely polarizing time. 5/5 stars

5 star read - easy. One of the best books I've read in 2019. I agree with others that this was slower paced at first and the introduction of a lot of characters in the beginning were superfluous - (however, I didn't care because this book was right up my alley and I definitely enjoyed it, but I absolutely see how this wouldn't work for others). I urge you to read it. Not only for the wonderful story, but the points it addresses.

I'm only 65 pages in, but this book is FANTASTIC. I've had it on my #netgalley TBR shelf since Christmas time and I can't believe I had something this amazing sitting there waiting for me this entire time.

The publication date moved up from June to tomorrow, May 14th. I know I'm only a little of the way in, but I think this book can really be something. I hope it continues!!

This book covers many topics and to me falls into the category of epic, due to the number of characters, the locations this book takes place and the span of time. The story center around Rita who is half Lebanese/half Irish growing up in Massachusetts. After finishing college at Harvard she goes to work in the Middle East as a journalist o pay her dues. What is ensues is so great and you go on this grand journey with her.

Hazel0303 I‘m reading this soon! So glad to see you loved it! 5y

Correspondents was a bit of a slow starter for me, in part because there are lots of characters in the beginning (and, in truth, that part could have been edited substantially without losing anything in the primary plot line). But, once the narrative takes off, this novel is unputdownable!

Such a touching story about Iraq from a semi-outsider point of view. This book holds a lot of (capital T) Truths and is an important read.
