I couldn‘t “resist” purchasing this adorable board book ( & 2 others) for my goddaughter‘s daughter‘s first birthday🎈♥️🎈
My daughter, Niki is the godmother to Hailey and I‘m the godmother to Hailey‘s mom, Alison. (got all that?!?!) Alison was my daughter‘s Matron of Honor & Niki was her Maid of Honor. The circle of strong women all #RaisingReaders is fierce 💪🏼💋💄

This cartoon illustrated B book is RIGHT on theme for International Women‘s Day that just passed, as well as the whole of International Women‘s Month as well! This quick factual book gives readers a glimpse of 23 iconic women who have conquered and changed the world.

AlexRobinson Students will learn about women such as Beyonce who rattled the music industry, to Katharine Graham being the first female publisher of the Washington Post, to Sacagawea and her historic expedition and so much more! At the end of the book there is a little surprise for our students so they can also see that they are just as extraordinary like the women they just read about!  4y
AlexRobinson This read is GREAT for a RA ( a YouTube link to a very enthusiastic reader: https://youtu.be/lOKBQVVQ0w0 and tips and tricks to allow for a smooth read aloud [focusing on tip 2,5, and 13]: https://www.readingrockets.org/article/hints-how-read-aloud-group) infused with an open class discussion! (edited) 4y
AlexRobinson The UDL 3.1 (activating/supplying background knowledge) as well as EL 3, 15, and 28 (encouraging self talk, continuously reinforcing key ideas, and incorporating biographies of men and women from different countries) will allow students to relate, recall, and connect ideas repetitively through out the RA! #Ucflae3414sp21

My granddaughter is asleep right now but I just enjoyed this alphabet book of women who‘ve changed the world that my daughter bought her. Nicely illustrated with quotes from each woman. Great, diverse representation from many fields from scientists to political & social activists to singers and athletes and more.

Book 97/165 3/17/19
