Wow this book was blunt. While the story was a good idea, the lack of imagery, and the fact stating really turned me off. I almost didn‘t finish it.

Absolutely amazing book! Written so perfectly and flowed so well, original plot and ideas. Gave me Throne of Glass, Hunger Games and Six of Crows vibes. World building was very well done though confusing at first with all the terms. MC Etta was sassy, badass and brave. Romance develops well and I liked the swoon worthy Reid a lot. Loved the mystery and plot twists, and especially loved the HEA ending and final battle.
"Your memories are a gift, one of the most precious items you own. Each one is completely and utterly unique."
"People can look like they have all the freedom in the world, but they never feel any kind of peace."
1. My bed or sofa in the AC.
2. Banana chips
3. Oh that's so hard. I really love both 'A Camper & Criminals Cozy Series' and 'Scottish Bookshop Mystery Series' and The Memory Thief is great too!
4. 1 cat.
Mansy has clear writing talent & the premise for this novel was interesting & fairly well constructed. The characters overall fell slightly flatter than I would have liked, but there was decent development in Etta & maybe a little in Reid. I enjoy the fact that there is a fantastic setup for an unreliable narrator. The ending was a bit of a whirlwind. It wasn't bad, but somehow underwhelming. Worth the read, but could have used a stronger ending.
This book was action packed and kept me on the edge of my seat for most of the book. Etta lives in Craewick were memories can be traded from person to person. When her mom goes up for auction she can‘t let that happen. She will die and someone will get her mother‘s memories. She can‘t let that happen so she is a race against time to save her mother and the city for an evil ruler. Second completed book in the #24b42020 readathon.
Harper I came home to this lovely surprise! It was so sweet of you to think of me! Happy Holidays to you too and I hope you have a relaxing Winter Break! 🎄❄️🎄❄️🎄❄️
Was finally in the mood for this last night and ended up staying up to finish. A little more sunshine and rainbows and less conflict than I expected but a really enjoyable read and I LOVED the way memories are used. So different.
Great book for younger readers!
Now....back to some creepy books 😈😈

I frown. How could he say these people were empty when they were stuffed full of rare talents and thrilling memories? “But there‘s so much inside of them!” He touches his heart. “No, nothing left of them, of who they once were . . . they‘ve lost themselves to become someone else.”

“In the city of Craewick, memories reign. The power-obsessed ruler of the city, Madame, has cultivated a society in which memories are currency, citizens are divided by ability, and Gifted individuals can take memories from others through touch as they please.”
