Oh My! This one was a bit gruesome. You could feel the fear. Who can you trust? What lengths would you go to to exact revenge? I love the character of Anna Pigeon, she's one tough chick! And I love that she revisits Isle Royal but I'm ready to read more of her personal story, her new marriage, and there was no mention of her sister in this book? This one was felt a bit "different " than the others to me. Good but, not my favorite..

BookishMe It's been ages since I read this series... Don't recall a beau nor wedding plans! Never read them in order as the setting in various national parks was the main pull ;D 4y

*Anna Pigeon must hit the north in this, Barr‘s 14th in the series. Sent to Isle Royale National Park in Lake Superior, Anna is expected to trail the wolf study team there, so that she can bring that knowledge back to her bailiwick in the Rocky Mountain Nat‘l Park. But it wouldn‘t be an Anna Pigeon mystery without danger and death at every turn, and here, the wolves are beginning to act in unnatural ways.

gradcat @EadieB I always liked Nevada Barr‘s books. I haven‘t one in a long while, but I know I read almost all of them. They‘re really great if you like the outdoors, + you learn a LOT about the national parks featured in the books. Barr traveled to all of them to do her research, and the books reflect that. ♥️ 5y

I‘ve been everywhere in my home state, Michigan. Except Isle Royale. It‘s an island in Lake Superior right at the edge of Michigan and Ontario. The ferry to get there takes three hours. Nevada Barr‘s Winter Study takes me there in winter. I‘m cold just thinking about it. #WinterWonderland #Frozen

Suzze @Cinfhen Tink is great. Chubby. I‘ve tried cutting down her food, but if her bowl is empty for more than an hour, she then gobbles and throws up. Chubby it is. Still not reading as much as I‘d like. Haven‘t even been going to book group! 5y

1. Loved them all. In 6th grade, I had a teacher who read books to us every day. I was so impressed that Mrs. Guinean loved books as much as I did.
2. Art. I‘d always been creative, but this class taught me how to use that creativity.
3. I have two sons, and 7 grandkids.
4. Isle Royale in my favorite lake, Lake Superior. The tagged book is set there.
