For the last 5 years I‘ve organized a door decorating contest at work. You can‘t see the whole thing in this format sadly. This sprung from my grandma‘s apartment building where she would win every year and take great pride in flaunting it around the building 😂 Christmas Day this year she‘ll have been gone 10 years- I miss her everyday. #holidaytradition #wintergames #tmskellington

StayCurious What a great way to remember her ❤️ 3d

I rewatched Frozen today. I love that movie. It wasn't Christmas related but it is amazing children movie. I borrowed a children book last year and read it to my little one. I wish we have our own edition.

#MOvember #catchup
I‘m so behind on Litsy & life so here is a #tripledip post. It‘s #TrueBlue is my favorite color & the cover & background represent💙well. This is Nigella‘s Thai Noodle Soup with Shrimp & it‘s delicious & would be perfect for the book‘s #Frozen Alaska setting. I‘m trying to restart this one & its tagline is “The Dry meets The Silence of the Lambs” so I guess it‘s on the #Borderline of literary suspense & psychological thriller.

DebinHawaii Here‘s a link to my #soupersundays post with Nigella Lawson‘s soup recipe with my adaptations: http://kahakaikitchen.blogspot.com/2019/11/nigellas-thai-noodle-soup-with-shrimp... 3w

Even after growing up hearing about them, I still was in shock at exactly how #frozen the poor Donner Party was. Great book!
#movember @Cinfhen

Cinfhen I‘m halfway through this book/ need to get back to it!!!! It‘s been in #Hibernation since June 😬 4w
Megabooks @Cinfhen I really enjoyed it, but it is a bit dry. 4w
BarbaraBB I didn‘t know this story about the Donner Party but it sounds horrible! 4w

Megabooks @BarbaraBB I learned about them the first time in the third grade (age 8-9, kinda young for cannibalism), then again in middle school and high school. It‘s one of those American pioneer stories that is really ingrained in children growing up. I‘m sure you have similar stories that it just seems like everyone has heard of at some point. The scope and senselessness of the tragedy didn‘t hit home until I read this, though. 4w
BarbaraBB Thanks for explaining! Coincidentally, I read a lot about American pioneers this year because I became interested in the history of Mormons! 4w
Megabooks @BarbaraBB That‘s cool! I know the general story of the Mormon migration from my area of the world to Utah to find religious freedom and a tad about the seer stones and the Book of Mormon. Is there any book on Mormon history you‘d particularly recommend? 4w
k.reads.5 I just read this recently myself and also thought it was great! So incredible what they faced, wow. 4w
Megabooks @k.reads.5 Yes! It was a really well written book. 4w

A friend of mine read this years ago and thought it was such an amazing story..

In 1959, a group of experienced hikers set out in the Russian aural Mountains. Months later, their bodies were discovered #frozen and in such an odd and mysterious way that so many theories abound. I know I want to read this, though something tells me I‘d have to read it in the daylight, since some theories are a little unsettling. #Movember

Hooked_on_books I have this and you‘ve made me want to move it up the TBR. 4w
valeriegeary Oh my gosh! A friend was telling me about this incident when we were hiking in the woods! I have to read this book! 4w

Cinfhen Well played ☃️☃️☃️ 4w
Billypar @vivastory Me too. I read Invisible Cities earlier in this year and it felt like that was a similar form (e. It feels wrong to call them 'novels ' - I wish there was a different name for it so I could seek more out. 4w

#MadonnaNovember #Frozen
When Mary Rose and Harold‘s young son died, they lost each other too. Then their cliff house fell into the sea during a storm. They floated on the ocean, and met a new people in a new #frozen land of icebergs and snow. In the process they finally grieved and found their way back to each other.

Cinfhen I love the starfish and glass paper weight 💙 4w
Suet624 That sounds like quite the story! 4w

Frankenstein: ; Or, The Modern Prometheus | Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley

Europe was one part of the world #frozen due to the 1815 eruption of Mount Tambora and the debris it sent into the atmosphere. One famous story, Mary Shelley‘s Frankenstein was being written during 1816 the year without a summer.

#MOvember @Cinfhen

Cinfhen Cool 😉 4w
