Meh. This got confusing at times, and the sound effects tended to make me more confused, rather than help my understanding. The storyline kept my interest, but there was more deviant sex woven into the plotline than I would have liked. A few scenes were memorable, but most was forgettable at best.

Late Victorian London. When the most respectable of Scottish businessmen is pulled, dead, from the Thames, his daughter is drawn into an investigation which reveals a whole world of secrets and corruption and leads all the way to the tragic truth behind the ghostly legend of The Darkwater Bride...

This was so slow and the audio version was awful. Not a fan of this at all. It just was so out there and the plot felt forced. It could have been in part from the audio being so bad, but I don‘t think I‘ll try another version.

Creepy, dark, gross, salacious. Men getting their comeuppance for the foul things they do to women. Is the deliverer of justice real or a myth that‘s become real? The daughter of a Scottish banker presumably killed by the Darkwater bride goes to London to investigate and discovers its underbelly and more. A darned good tale, as haunted as they come. Maybe not the best easter read! Save for Halloween. It‘ll be perfect.

This is my review for a #tbrjarpick I just finished listening to and now, I‘m starting The Wild Heart Of Stevie Nicks by Rob Sheffield.

My next #tbrjarpick is... The Darkwater Bride by Marty Ross. I‘m going to start this after I finish listening to The Mueller Report. This one sounds exciting. Here‘s what this audiobook is about:”Late Victorian London. This radio drama was an Audible freebie for April. I thought it was a wonderful Victorian horror/mystery/ghost story and beautifully acted. It is, however, for a mature audience with language, violence, and sexual themes. It spends a good bit of time in London‘s seedy underground so trigger warning for brutality against women. Not for the squeamish but excellent story if you like darker material.
