⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ There‘s a bit of a Bonnie-and-Clyde-meets-Serial vibe here. This complex story unfolds present day through two POV with occasional letters cleverly addressing the past. It‘s … A LOT. But Gaylin brings it all together well. April gets sucked into a tumultuous crime-laden life with her abusive murderer boyfriend Gabriel until they themselves come to a tragic end — or do they? A solid page turner!

Unfortunately, I couldn‘t connect with this story and I found my mind wandering throughout. With that being said...I totally think this is a case of “it‘s me, not you” because plotwise it had good bones. When I look back on it I can see that it had something solid going on here. The way everything tied together, in the end, was ultimately fulfilling, or at least it should have been.
Wow. I didn‘t see the connections coming. I found myself toward the end needing to stop and make sure i heard the pieces put together. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Because self care includes saying goodnight early and immersing yourself in s good book. Especially after the mondayest monday.
Long week. Friday night. The boys are watching tv but I‘m going to escape into a new book.
Amazing! Robin is contacted by a true crime podcaster with information from a decades old murder spree by two teens. It may change life as she knows it. Told in alternating storylines past and present. An intricate storyline that leaves you wondering, do you really know the history of those you love? I did get lost a few times but it was bc of all the names/characters. I had to stop and think who they were. Almost made a flow chart! Lol
Another thrilling read by Alison Gaylin. Always enjoy books by this author.
I don't know about you, but I love a true crime podcast. This book is about a podcast called CLOSURE, which is going to discuss a decades old murder by two teenagers, April and Gabriel. (The murder spree reminded me of the Charles Manson murders). The podcaster, Quentin, has a personal connection to these murders (thus the name CLOSURE) and believes that April is still alive and has changed her name and living life scott-free.
Well-executed thriller where a podcaster looks into a 70s murder spree that negatively impacted his life. A teenage couple killed a dozen people before dying in a fire at a desert commune & now a credible witness comes forward saying that one of them is still alive. Great characters & steadily building tension with the different POVs skillfully woven together. With Cinnamon Raisin Toast w/ Cream Cheese & Strawberry Jam for my book tour review👇🏻
When you are trying to pretend like tomorrow isn't Monday & you don't have to go back to work after four days off. 🙉🙈🙊
It's going to be a loooong week...
My blog post & dinner is a slightly adapted Giada recipe for Caprese Pasta Salad. 🍅🧀🌱Really tasty (I added capers & pesto for more flavor oomph) & it's perfect for a warm humid night. Recipe link 👇🏻
Just starting this #ARC for a book tour review next week. I'm in the mood for a good thriller & hope this one holds up. 😱
