How to become the life of the party? First, survive the celebration Rare books and antiquities expert Brooklyn Wainwright is thrilled to be invited to the fiftieth birthday party of her neighbor Suzies aunt Grace. A retired founder of a major video game corporation, Grace is a larger-than-life character whos turned her Lake Tahoe mansion into a fun house, full of everything from pinball machines and giant props to secret passageways and trap doors. Brooklyn is most excited to catalog Graces extensive collection of rare paperback pulp fiction. Part of the fun involves a sance, but after the lights flicker, one guest is dead, poisoned by a cocktail intended for Grace. It seems someone is determined to turn Graces playful palatial estate into a house of horrors. Brooklyn suspects the key to the killers identity may lie in the roman clef Grace has written about her life. With Grace in great peril, must-read takes on a whole new meaning, as Brooklyn tries to stop a murderer whos through playing around

#CurrentlyListening out of order 🤷🏻‍♀️ — libraries are great, but they don‘t necessarily have all the audiobooks in a series... I‘m okay with that, for the most part. #LibraryLove

Ladyval05 I feel like I‘ve hit the jackpot if they have the entire series, even if it means having to switch formats from book to book. 4y

The reviews of this are mixed, but I liked this book with its homage to the old Agatha Christie-everybody-gathered-in-one-place-while-a-murderer-runs-amok stories. Did the plot get ridiculous and the characters a little one note? Yes. (Derek and Gabriel are practically the same person except Derek has a British accent.) The book was still fun in spite of all this.

I received my #springbreakbookexchange from @kspenmoll this weekend. I have been wanting to read Henrietta Lacks for quite awhile now. I look at it every time I am in the bookstore, but I kept procrastinating buying it. The cozy mystery looks fun. I haven't read any from this series yet😄 Also the card was absolutely lovely. Thank you so much for the thoughtful gifts. #buddyread

kspenmoll Glad you have not read either.😃📚 So sorry the box was late; thought it had been mailed but it was riding in the back seat of hubby's car- metaphor for my month! Apologies! 7y
rabbitprincess I love that bunny dish! 😊 7y
Graciouswarriorprincess I loved both of these books. 7y
ptkpepe98 "The Immortal Life..." left me angry at our system that simultaneously solved some medical mysteries and exploited a trusting patient. We still can be exploited, all these years later, whenever we have a blood draw, colonoscopy, etc. Excellent book. 7y

This book was a great vacation from all the political nonsense. The characters are wonderful and quirky and house a maze of halls and tunnels. I enjoy the Bibliophile series and look forward to the Fixer Upper Mysteries.
