Sofia Kendrick has always cherished her tiara. As the youngest daughter of a wealthy New York family, shes lived the life of an American princess. But after two scandalous divorces and a breakup smear her name across the society rags, the shine from her crown has dulled. People call her superficial, even gaudy. Shes nothing more than tinsel. Desperate for escape and starving for peace, Sofia heads to Montana for a holiday weekend with her brother. But she doesnt get the relaxing vacation she planned. Instead, shes put to work in a bar alongside Dakota Mageea man who does not want her help. A man who is set on teaching her a few lessons about real life and hard work. But Sofia has a couple of life lessons of her own to teach. Like how to fall in love.

Devney Perry amazes me. She grabs hold of your heartstrings and makes you fall in love with her characters. Perry's storytelling is so real, you feel like your inside the story, the story lines are real, the emotions are real. I just love her books. TINSEL was a big surprise, I didn't think I would like Sofia and Dakota's story, but once again Perry just WOWed me.

1. Yes, though most of my ornaments are still with my mom. Someday I'll get her to ship them to me.
2. We are trying to start an annual Christmas “village“ with all our little misc trinkets.
3. I've always had a soft spot for Little Drummer Boy. I also like Rachael Yamagata's cover of “River“ and Jamie Cullum's Christmas album.

Eggs How fun #2! Thanks for playing 👍🏼🤗 5mo

Well, I guess I spoke too soon about continuing with this author's backlist this week for #backlistreadathon. The tagged book of hers contains problematic rep, if not outright racism, a great example of how NOT to do Indigenous rep. Gross.

Only a few people even bring up the issues in reviews. Boy does this genre have a long way to go.

I love Devney Perry but this was just ok. I think my biggest issue is I‘m not a fan of the poor little rich girl makes good trope. I found the female protagonist annoying and her reformation didn‘t feel fully developed. The male protagonist had a better back story but he was also often hard to like. Overall, not terrible but my least favorite by this author. #romantsy

megnews The cover‘s pretty. (edited) 5y
Nessavamusic @megnews it really is, and actually directly applies to the book 5y
